Yet another Ryan Adams song that shows the exquisite artistry of a songwriting genius. I read all the Shakespeare Sonnets hoping for a line to sum it up. Not possible. Despite the seemingly simple narrative it expresses a sadness so deep, that one line won’t cut it. But Ryan comes close - - ‘she asked me if she reminded me of you I just laughed and lit a cigarette ‘ - - - WS would have kept that line and gone down the pub thinking job done.
