Though I was 2 years ahead, Ryan and I both went to Legacy High School in Broomfield, CO. I remember him being the face of our wrestling team there. He was so good that everyone looked up to him. When I was working out at a gym during the summer after I graduated, I ran into him there. He was working out with his dad and they were both dripping in sweat and out of breath. He always made time to stop and say hi and talk for a second. Not only is he an incredible athlete, he's one of the most respectful and friendly guys I've ever met. It's surreal seeing him go all the way from high school to Nathional Champion. Way to go Ryan!!

Happy for Deakin, good to see some Colorado wrestlers having success at this level. The Willits brothers and Schultz also accomplished AA honors which was fun to see. Hope to see Alirez bounce back next season, he’s a better wrestler than he showed this weekend.

Princeton coaches needed to do a better job warning Monday about the points he was giving up. Iffy call at best, so can’t leave it up to the incompetent refs. Not sure what’s a stalemate and what’s 6 points in this match
@aledmondson4616
@aledmondson4616 2 жыл бұрын

My best guess is that the ref thought deakin had both wrist and ankle control, but in fact monday was grabbing onto deakins wrist at the same time…no way he knew backpoints were being called on him….and I’m guessing he could have bailed anytime, give up the 2, and still have 80 seconds or so to get an escape (no easy task) and get the td. But this “scramble” lasted over a minute, and the match was all done after the call.
@yuwu3780

Has nothing to do with the coaches or w/e. The ref verbally announced(LOUDLY) that red was in NDZ and verbally began a 3 count. Monday tried to improve so I'm pretty sure he knew what was happening. Ref was very competent. Sounds like you need to learn the rules a bit more.
@aledmondson4616
@aledmondson4616 2 жыл бұрын
@@yuwu3780 Sounds like itz bias even in the application of the rules. You should use common sense and look at the positions of the two wrestlers. Itz all judgmental, since you obviously have never done any officiating of substantial significance. Like you know, when itz all someone's opinion. I have eyes that see well without any blurring and are able to clearly focus straight forward. Have a great day.
