@@thesingularityproject4042 😧 this comment is concerning, even Ryan clearly would agree with me on this. The movie is about GENDER equality. Highlighting the problems WOMEN and GIRLS face as it's a specific struggle that is more common than men's struggles, gender equality-wise (in which people took the movie only for it's comedic side, completely misunderstanding the point of the movie)

I enjoyed that song but the message wasn't as meaningful to me because I don't struggle with feeling commodified etc but I do struggle with feeling like I am enough. To be fair I expected the Barbie movie to be similar to the animated ones that have a fun vibe and have a good universal message + Ryan Gosling. It did kinda deliver a fun vibe but it's hard to completely enjoy it as it's plastered with cliche political satire/messaging. The movie isn't really that deep but atleast it wasn't that long, I appreciate the props, costume and setup though.

I think he took the movie and its message seriously but he never took his character seriously. He really leaned into the ridiculousness of his character to satyrize the nice guy in simps clothing trope while simultaneously lifting margo's character up in a way that fed the joke while while also giving her character and the message the respect it deserved. If any of that makes sense? In other words: "ill make a clowm of myself to highlight the brilliance of the those that the focus should be on" although, ironically, i feel like he did such a great job that he made his character loveable and more importantly, memeable which did kind put a lot of the attention on himself.
