Ryan's performance was great, from the start sitting in the audience with belting the final notes at the end, I think it's the best awards show performance I've seen, especially in terms of crowd involvement.

He’s one of the all time great talents in the business! When the right director decides he needs to play the lead in a remake of “The Scarlet Pimpernel”, then he’ll win his own well deserved Oscar. He’s got the dramatic chops, but more important he’s got great comedic timing, and no one can make a better smirk face than Ryan!

I'm with Amanda on this, sorry Sean. I liked the former winners presenting to the nominees. Like she said, it gave each nominee a specail moment. I've seen acting clips throughout award season and in other clips in the show, etc. I really appreciated the way they did it this year.
@genny53099 ай бұрын
I agree with her. This had more impact. The clips are actually everywhere. People who watch the Oscars generally have a clue, there have been 3-4-5 award shows by now.

I love the former winners honoring the nominees. Especially this year when all people were so sure about who was likely to win. I am sad that Lili didn't win, but I love that she got a moment. But they could use more clips. And Please have someone more engaged giving the Best Picture award.

I agree with Mallory Rubin, we don’t need acting clips, we see the actors performance in the best picture nominated clips and with KZbin you can go watch it their, the older viewers do see everything nominated before the Oscar’s. And if the show is longer because they showed the clips Sean would be complaining about that.

Ryan Gosling was cast on the New Mickey Mouse Show as a SiNGER and a DANCER, so the guy can sing and dance. Why are you so surprised that he can sing? Do you not know this??? Ryan Gosling is not "too cool" for anything. You have misinterpreted his modesty and low-key behavior as "too cool." He is not only a gentleman, but a proponent of women and he does not try to steal the spotlight from other actors. He is respectful. Your smug and surprised attitude towards the talented Mr Gosling is very disappointing.

Dobb Mobb where u at!! Maybe I’m just too Actors on Actors pilled but seeing the mutual respect and admiration between presenter and nominee was great. What kind of Oscars fan are you if you’d give up Ke Huy Quan’s infectiously earnest praise moving Sterling K. Brown to (near) tears? I just don’t buy that an American Fiction clip (one of which we saw anyway during the screenplay award iirc) in place of that would really lead more people to seek it out who weren’t already intending to. Hell the last time they did this had me convinced that Sandy B deserved to win for the Blind Side just because Forest Whitaker (director of Hope Floats, obviously) basically said so. Also the camaraderie of the presenter-to-nominee speeches, and seeing them all gathered around the winner while walking offstage and its welcome to the club vibe, was even more touching in the wake of the SAG strike and the “we’re all in this together” of it all that we witnessed during it. P.S. new pod segment called Screen Tests so we can get Amanda doing Julianne Moore’s whole pharmacy monologue in Magnolia.
