He was a bad draft pick, never should’ve been drafted 1st, but that was Al Davis for ya. Busts actually have the talent, but fail to live up to it- Russell never had the talent which is why it was just a bad draft pick. No different than drafting a 10 year old 1st- not a bust, just a baaad pick.

I was playing golf at Torrey Pines Golf Course when he was the number one pick of the Charges. He hit into our group on the first hole on the north course a par 5.
