Totally agree a lot of people forget he's only been on mid pack teams. So those occasional top 10 runs and finishes he has are proof of his talent and him outdriving that equipment. And that he could do so much more on a better team so I can't wait to see what he does.

So maybe Ryan Preece could be another Martin Truex Jr type.

@@bighand1530 Could be hard to tell a drivers ceiling when theyve had so lil time in good race winning stuff. I was thinking more of a Bowman type, gets blots of top 10s and wins a race or 2 a year. but we'll see soon!

@@thekingmansplainer6813 Martin Truex Jr was a bit of a late bloomer when it came to wins and his 2017 championship. 78 days left till the 2025 Daytona 500.

Except he’s underachieved even then. Briscoe has won at SHR. Allmendinger and Stenhouse won at JTG. Buescher ran much better at JTG than Preece.

The first point is valid, but I said the same about David Stremme back in the day. While it's nice that he isn't a nepo baby, it doesn't change the on-track results. And those results have been... underwhelming. I wasn't expecting wins. But every teammate he's had has shown more competitive flashes. He's had exactly one race in his career where his driver rating was over 100 (summer Richmond last year). Gragson equaled that number in fewer races, and Berry, Briscoe, Stenhouse and retirement season Harvick and Almirola all had more. I supported the decision to replace Custer, as he had just set the NASCAR record for most positions lost on-track in a single season. But Preece has been only a marginal improvement. I don't see this ending well. Best of luck to him, but I suspect his Roush stint will look a lot like Chad Little's.

The difference is that David Stremme got into a lot of spins/crashes. In 2009, you knew there would be at least one mandatory caution for a David Stremme incident. Ryan Preece doesn’t tear up a lot of equipment. He’s quietly running good, mid, or terrible.
@seannolan9857Ай бұрын
@FuelCellFull I'll give him that, he definitely stays out of trouble for the most part.

@ic3manАй бұрын
Preece’s performances at SHR proved that it was a team issue for why Daniel Suárez/Cole Custer/Ryan Preece weren’t at fault for the lack of performances and is why Cole Custer is coming back to cup. 2:37 Preece was way back. (+10 seconds back) from Hornish in the 22, your point there is only valid to a certain extent and it’s NASCAR fault as well with the format more than anything else.

Not enough. For now, there’s only two. NRF Productions for historical NASCAR videos and Fuel Cell Full for modern NASCAR content.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think third time around is going to be the charm given that RFK Racing has climbed its way right up there with Team Penske as the top Ford team. I knew he had talent when he won all those races for JGR in the Xfinity Series and wasn't a fluke

2:42 , I don’t get this part. Literally no one gives a hoot about the owners championship. The 9 and 1 and battling for a championship. The 18 wasent catching the 22 with that many laps left. That was Elliott sadlers legacy on the line while preece already had races lined up for 2018and won in 2017. Byron was going to cup also. You made a brain rot edit of Sadler “crying” about loosing a championship when I can garuntee you wouldn’t do the same thing to bell after martinsville. Imagine if larson in 2022 in cup fought and wrecked blaney and blaney got upset. The owners title means just as much as the regular season championship, no one really cares about it.

I'd say Preece does bc if you look at SHR were they really a top team like they once were? Harvick was really the only one still holding the team on its back then Briscoe and Berry did the heavy lifting. SHR was on the downfall and only got 5 wins after 2020 so I'd give him this year to really judge him.

In 2020. Custer was straight ass in 2021 and 2022. Preece showed alot of promise at the 2023 Daytona 500, got a buncha top 10s towards the end of the 2024 season, and had a chance to win Nashville but that was fuel strategy so it really doesn't count.
