@bronzejourney57846 ай бұрын
@@TripleXMango To be honest, Earnhardt is slightly overrated due to his death on track. All he ever did was just bump and pass everyone in front of him. All the races he ever participated in, a whopping 3 cars were off each race, *just because* they have been bumped by him. No other driver even comes close to an average like that. If you want a real driver, it wasnt for nothing that he was called "The King".

I'll never forget attending the 2019 Daytona 500 and having garage passes with it. I remember going to Hemric's hauler and saw he was outside it signing autographs. I asked if he would sign my card I had of him and he did with a big bright smile on his face. Since that day I had always been a Daniel Hemric fan and stayed with him through so much heartbreak. When he won that race and that Championship, I released a scream of happiness and joy that I have only let out a few times in my life. Though he only has won one race as of now, it is one that made everything he wanted possible. I have stayed a Hemric fan through thick and thin, and I am not stopping anytime soon.

Being a Hemric fan is hard. Man’s been insane consistent his entire career. Beat Reddick on equal equipment in 2016, would’ve won the 2018 Xfinity title under full season points, and was dropped after just one season by RCR. (Which was one of RCR's worst in recent memory, even for Dillon). 2021 was so freaking hard to watch right till the end. Races like Atlanta, Charlotte, Texas, Martinsville, all of them he could’ve won but luck just didn’t allow. That title in the end, though he wasn’t the most deserving of it.. he deserved something at the end of the day.

It produces good moments for sure, but at the end of the day it’s really gimmicky. Part of its trying to artificially reproduce all time great races and championship shootouts like the 92 hooters 500 and part of it is the dominance guys had during the early and mid 90s and early 2000s but I think I think more often then not this is not the best way to go about it long term even if once in a while it produces great races or moments. A guy can win 10 plus races in a season and run over a piece of degree or have a piston blow in the championship race and it lead to a guy winning that one and only race being the champ.

If I have to be completely honest, before his winning title, I just thought Hemric was that lucky but also unlucky driver, and I kinda still believe that. He proved to show some good stats throughout his tenure which got him into the cup series (even though he sucked); however until that faithful night when he won it over Cindric, he had never won a single race in any of the divisions, not even any expedition races. He has some good talent, he just can't win. Which is why (possible unpopular opinion here) that he should have stayed with JGR for another season or two, because with the current state of the team, they need any drivers they can get for the inevitable retirement of Hamlin and Truex (or something different). But instead he went to Kaulig, which honestly was a big disappointment in my opinion. Sure he was in the car that could only win on superspeedways, but still. I really do hope Hemric enjoys he time in NASCAR and does something other than winning a 2nd tier series title by feet. Because at this rate, he looks to be forgotten in the future.
