amazes me that, I've listened to so many songs that aren't OneRepublic and loved them, then realised that Ryan T either wrote or produced them (Skinny Love, Chances, Rumour Has it...even a Trance song on my Playlist that I love). Now I've just found out that he worked with London Grammar, another group I really like. I'm just drawn to his creativity.

That is brilliant Ryan. So cool that you are giving back and mentoring new artists/song writers. You are incredibly gifted but its your hard work and discipline that makes you so unique and special. Songland is my ultimate TV show. I hope we get several more seasons as songwriting and music styles evolve and so should the material for Songland to keep it dated.
@charnechristensen2 жыл бұрын
@Ryan Tedder so special to read your feedback Ryan. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I often go back and watch old episodes of Songland as the whole song writing process is incredible to watch and hear. You make it look effortless but in reality it must be very draining on you and I think the highs of writing a hit song must be very addictive, which makes the lows so much harder. Just know that the joy of what you create and bring to our lives, is the most uplifting experience in a sometimes very cruel world. Sending you love and joy from Kiwi Land and Thank You for taking time to reply and show your gratitude, it means the world to me to.

Smarter than the other 99% of the population because your a natural at what you do. You have the gifts to help others that brings live and hope to their lives for a future.. Lucky enough to choose to keep your talents current and active and move into the future with the changes in music styles. Most people don't have the broad range of music styles they can sing, instrument play or produce as you have and understand do many different styles. Why don't you teach a college class part time or through a summer? Find more talent. Think back to when you were in college. What type of guidance did you want most? Maybe get students from the college's and helpl them get credits for graduation through your songwriting coarses.

the twenty something was sooo good in the beginning, it was leading up to some big chorus ...... but then the chorus never happened. disappointing. those first few verses were fire, just add in a big dancey chorus and you got yourself a hit. otherwise it's a buildup to something that never happens.
@emiljohnDR3 жыл бұрын
It’s a drop chorus, Ryan’s suggestion was spot on imo
@jakecanten32463 жыл бұрын
I agree this song is fire. From the imagery in the lyrics, the production. But the chorus never came. (It’s still a great song) but this song deserves a big instrumentation chorus!

I really enjoy going over stuff at the same time with you. I'm an amateur songwriter, do my own production, etc. and also nearly 100% of the time, I hear the same things you do in other work! It's fun to live vicariously through someone as successful as you and know that when I do what I do, it's only my own skillsets as a player that hold me back. I probably will take one of your courses one day, just to confirm my suspicions. I'm really curious to find out.

She hit the 7th degree of the harmonic minor, which is ok if the you sing it with a chord that also has that note In there. When she sung, the chord that was couple didn't have that note and therefore didn't match. To make it plain, if you're gonna sung a weird note, make sure the chord sounds good with it, and as a result justifies it.
