Except she publicly belittles and humiliates Stolas on a literal daily basis; you'd think that would effect her social status if she was married to such a weak and pathetic demon. If anything Stolas sleeping with an Imp for the current Stella would be the ultimate humiliation and beat down of Stolas she could ever ask for, something she would revel in and make sure to shove his face in it like a bad dog for the rest of his life. The reason Stella sent Striker to kill Stolas in the first season doesn't make sense for the current Stella who sent Striker to kill Stolas in the second season because he had the gal to stand up to her, it had nothing to do with Blitz otherwise she would've probably put a price on him too in order to erase the crime and wipe the humiliation off the slate. Stolas was Stella's toy, a pet to abuse and break... and now that he finally bit her hand in retaliation she must put him down for it and nothing more. This has nothing to do with their marriage, their reputation, or their family its all about Stella and her need to collar, abuse, and dominate Stolas... even in death... and that makes her less of a character than a woman scorned by a man who got tired of her, made her feel like less of a demon, and she wanted revenge for it.

Keep in mind that it was Moxxie who knew about the role of angelic weapons when it comes to killing demon royalty. Blitz has never seen the effect that they have, and in truth, he's never once seen Stolas truly get hurt...quite the opposite in fact, as he HAS seen Stolas display his powers to terrifying effect back in Truth Seekers. We know that their relationship goes into some...well probably a lot of slap and tickle, and Blitz has been able to effectively do anything to Stolas without actually hurting him. Again in Truth Seekers, we know that Blitz has an idealized view of Stolas where he's literally placed on a pedastile. This is probably why he didn't dash off to help Stolas, as he didn't think it was anything serious, and in truth, neither did Stolas at that time. Now he's seen that Stolas can be hurt, and more importantly, that he can lose him. The question is how he will react, as he's always pushed people away who get that close.

Personally, I think the Loona B plot could have been condensed to the scene where she runs around the desk chasing the doctor. That would have told the audience what was going on. Also, regarding Blitz choosing the shot over Stolas if you check in the video at 8:41 there is a poster that states "Get yours today! Or else!" So, I'm guessing the shots are mandatory?

Blitzø is prioritizing the shot because he's concerned for Loona's well-being and, judging by his comments, it's incredibly hard to get an appointment for the shot. He also mentions the amount of fieldwork she's been doing, so i imagine that while the shots aren't _mandatory,_ "Hellbies" is a severe disease that he doesn't want her catching.

As someone that has Stolas as one of their favorite characters of this series I 100% agree that the odd tonal shift of the comedy and serious elements really hurt this episode. The preview gifs in twitter and the 2022 storyboard teaser made me think that this would've been a way more serious tone to it since Stolas was kidnapped by Striker, but the constant cutting to the B plot with Blitzø and Loona and the weird music change in the middle of the fight scene really took away from how it should've been. The writing choices in this season have really hurt what could've been good episodes to tonally confusing ones.

Stella was so pissed at Stolas for embarressing her. By cheating on her with a low class citizen he made a fool out of her to her entire family and all her peers. So it wasnt so much that he cheated, more that he cheated in such an insulting way. If you didnt consider cheating insulting enough as it is. Its all about status for her.

I think part of the problem with striker this episode is his tongue isn't as sharp as it used to be. Episode five he could roll with insults, manipulate people on the fly, and always seemed on top of the situation. This episode he's either not taken seriously or only acts cocky when he has the advantage. (With the exception of the Moxxie scene, him being thrown off and disgusted with a side he's never scene is pretty cool)

So, ironically I think this was my favorite episode so far. You know I'm not that big into the show, but taking into account what was building up, I think they did well enough with Striker. The fights and animation in general was phenomenal, the joke music overstayed its welcome but as someone who always wondered what would happen in a scenario where people are too busy to stop the stupid song, I appreciate their boldness in trying it. Still made it less enjoyable though. I think they did well in painting a scenery of threat and terror for him as a menace, and the Stolas act ended up working as foreshadowing as to how to get Striker off guard, that was well done. When I first watched the episode, I stopped to actually read their text conversation and that was a painful yet close to home experience. When it comes to toxic relationships sometimes the one realization really is never the end of it, even after people like Stolas will continue to cling to the little attachment they have. After witnessing what their conversation is like and the way Blitzo kind of belittled it, that might have symbolized an actual better end and realization than they did the first time around for me. What I'm guessing the writers will do is have Blitzo realize it himself and start to care but for Stolas it will be too late. Not convinced the ship is over but this is a good start for a good conversation on ending relationships if they decide to go this direction.

I agree completely. It's like season one and season two are two different series with two different sets of characters with the same names and it's whiplash that would make even Stolas say, "AH! My neck!"

I've been watching your vids for awhile, usually I don't like reaction channels because of how lazy of a format is, but you're definitely one of the better ones. You don't just sit there and watch things, you give your own thoughts and opinions on what you're watching, it's like a reaction and a review blended into one, AND you add in your own jokes! Thanks for pointing out about what I had in my mind about this episode but couldn't bring myself to form into actual thoughts. About the last scene from Blitzo, where he says: He could get hurt? At first I also thought "But... don't you know that he can get hurt through your first encounter with Striker?" But then I had a discussion with my friends about it and they brought up an interesting new meaning to this scene: Stolas has powers beyond belief and Blitzo knows that, so he never really thought about even the idea that Stolas might get hurt. But then he does and Blitzo is in complete shock about this fact that something has occured, which he never thought would happen. I am still not sure how to interpret this scene, but I thought it would be interesting to write this down. Have a nice week :)

Personally I didn't have any problems with the episode, but I understand the criticisms. The one thing I more strongly disagree on is that I love how much of a petty B Stella is, she's just really fun in a "love to hate her" kind of way, but even then I'm not mad about people not agreeing with that subjective opinion.

we seriously do need more contexts into the Goetia (the noble family of the owl demons) and how they work as nobles we need some context as to how marriage and divorce even works in hell if we don't it just keep getting more confusing and yeah it feel like characters are forgetting/ignoring that Striker can kill Stolas like Blitzo was literally fighting Striker after finding him almost sniping Stolas with an angel sniper rifle so there is no reason why Blitzo would be surprised that Stolas "can be hurt" like no shit man you know that angel weapons exist and you know that Striker HAS THEM so wtf? and finally can Stella get more characterization out side of "i hate Stolas and i want him dead" like yeah we are all behind you sister more power for the death after party and all, but come on can Stella have something elles? anything? mabey a decent relationship with her daughter? that be neat could even be interesting

Blitzø didnt know about the holy weapons he's not a good enough assassin to buy those like Striker and as Blitzø kills humans he doesnt really need them. Striker kills people already in hell and has quite the reputation and while you can kill hell born with regular guns you need holy weapons for the royalties and sinners as those are the only things that can kill them. Blitzø isn't a high enough level to know nor access holy weapons

I can also agree that this episode. Should have been one of those 2 part episodes. Where we get to see Luna and Blitzo’s side in one episode. And Moxie and Millie’s side in another episode. That would have been more fun and not conflicting. They would keep the beginning and ending the same in both episodes. And change the battle music in the striker fight. Also both fights would be longer. Those fights didn’t last as long as they would have.

I can only agree that this episode was underwhelming. The tonal shifts are too frequent and don't work a lot of the time. And the plot seems like more of a checklist of things that are necessary to get done, rather than an episode that's truly interesting. They wanted to demonstrate that Stolas isn't invincible, while they talked about it in Strikers first episode, Stolas was never actually injured. And with him easily rescuing the Imps in the episode were Moxxie and Blitz were captured, I think they wanted to shatter this believe by showing us how he's not invincible. Furthermore they wanted to show us Strikers motivation, that was only hinted at in his first episode. He hates the rich and wants to kill them for taking everything he had away from him. And lastly they wanted to introduce Andrealphus's character and show how he's a bigger threat than Stella. All these are fine ideas to put into an episode, but all of it only feels loosly connected and everything else surrounding these things are comedic filler that really shouldn't be as prominent when you want to show the weakness of one of your main characters, show the serious motivations of a villain from a previous episode and introduce a new antagonist that's supposed to directly be above a previous one. The episode fails to leave an impact while having three somewhat important topics to show. All topics fall flat, because A) We knew already that Stolas could get hurt and him making fun of his kidnapper while being stabbed doesn't make it better B) Strikers seriousness is dragged down by making a lot of the jokes at his expense, which is the difference to his first appearance where he felt more serious because no jokes where made that harmed his image C) Andrealphus doesn't feel like an intimadating villain because in order to make him look better they made Stella look dumber than she actually is, he just sorta exists to be kinda villainy without actually doing anything this episode, he did one thing which ironically only saved Stolas from dying. The episode feels too ambitious and while trying to handle three serious topics fails to do any of them justice.

Its hell, the fact that stolas cheated, with an imp no less, doesnt change the fact that he's still a part of one of the highest statuses in hell where as (this is just me assuming because i dont think they ever said) Stella is from a lower rank of demons who married into the Goetia family to gain status. The fact that Stolas would rather get a divorce and sleep with an imp than her would stain Stellas reputation more than Stolas. He's a prince, he can diddle who ever he wants.

Andrealphus' wierdly incestual vibes when speaking to his sister stella is the strangest part of the episode but also simultaneously the funniest part for me. Anyways Season 2 of helluva boss really hasnt been the best. I hope to see improvement in their overall writing, and tonal choices in the future, cause I KNOW they can do great things.

hello and wellcome one of the mods here no Ryan is not a hater, Ryan likes the show but he has been hating Stolas as a character ever since the pilote and no that's not about being a hater Stolas simbly fall in to the character type the Ryan realy hates the rich snob that think they are better than the rest, add in Stolas's seksual energi that is way to much for Ryan and well, Stolas never stood a chance out side of that Ryan is just being honest instead of praising the show constantly for example if he finds a problem with the tone off the episode like thinking that the choice music completely ruined the tone of the battle then he will voice his complaint/concern in the video

4:15 the reason why is because orionaly (season 1 Stella) her character was angry that he embarrased her, but now (season 2 Stella) is cannonly just a b#tch (which i found to be a lazy change) it is weird for her character to go to such lengths of eviltry for nothing. i loved Stella being a victum of Stolas being un loyal, not just some woman child being evil for evils sake. Also, yay I enjoyed the Lona plot more, it was just more fun and tonal cohesive. Striker also felt less calm and collected, and more try hard/dorky which kinda ruined the tension.

tbh, we really had nothing to go off with Stella before season 2. She's always just shown as angry, the only time she wasn't was on that family picture, but that could have been a faked smile. I'm not sure if they ever planned to make Stella anything more then a bitch, her being angry about Stolas cheating seemed more like her finding a way to hate him. She's never shown as anithing but a dick lol. Never understood why people thought she would turn out to be not a dick

I like Bojack Horsemen because he is a bad person who we want to get better. Argo, for Stolis to be completly obsovled of all guilt, it makes me like him less. Stella went from being a potential victum to the villian, which just feels lazy in my eyes.

The tone she set up when asking Stolas to take care of their child was very demending and left no space for arguing. I would call that agressive. And tbh, i wouldn't call"tossing a literal person across the room" cold? Or screaming at the guy you hired to kill your husband, that's not cold anymore imo, that's just evil, or at least highly agressive. And given Stolas' reactions of not giving a shit when she's literally telling Striker to kill him, him not even trying to go against her demanding tone when she tells him to go look after her or the fact he was able to pretty quickly dodge the imp she threw at him makes me think this has happened before, it just wasn't shown in series. As Stolas very clearly tries to tell Via in ep 2 of season one, he and Stella were never in love, and he hasn't been happy living with her. All of this makes me believe it never was the plan to make her the victim tbh. If anything, it likely was supposed to be a set up to Stella just being unappoligatically evil. I can see why it's not everyone's cup of thee, but I personally enjoy it. I also really like her selfish nature as it is shown in the latest episode. (Seen a few people say she's "dumbed down" in said episode, and I personally don't agree with that. I do think she's not the brightest person, but her not wanting Stolas' stuff likely has more to do with her already being from a rich family, she wouldn't need his stuff, her just having the selfish tendency to want Stolas dead asap and her over all not wanting the responibilities of a goetia. However, these goetia powers might come in handy for her brother, assuming he's not a prince himself. I got sidetracked lol, but felt like including this.)
