The real reason Bigweld stepped down isn't because of the dominoes. It's because Rachet and Madam Gasket convinced him he was to outmoded to run the company anymore. And he tells Rodney as much. Rachet only mentioned the dominoes to try and distract him. I hope that helps.

Also, it surprises me how most people don’t pay close attention to the details or, at least, the dialogue when the exposition is the most important part in any form of storytelling. As a french, I have to admit it's one of the rare movies where I prefer the french canadian version. And that's a shame, because in the french version, Mrs Gasket is voiced by a man considered as the boss of the french Disney voice acting
