These two never miss. Even answering the Messi/Ronaldo question…they made it about size and not the ability of the players so people don’t get upset. And then Ryan Reynold at the end asking if Bale was an option as a nod to the Welsh. These two are MASTERS of public image.

it's funny of how amazed are Americans when they learn that you can get promoted or relegated. For us Europeans this is the standard method, without the fear of relegation and the hope of promotion what is the point?
@Nicholascagesmandolin2 жыл бұрын
In fact it causes problems in the US system because teams that have no hope of playoffs intentionally down tools to Finnish lower and get better draft picks
@TheLastAngryMan012 жыл бұрын
It's kinda ironic that Europe is seen as a bastion of socialism by many Americans, yet our sports are quite ruthlessly capitalist. Get relegated from the Premier League and everyone will be taking paycuts, and more often than not, the wealthiest clubs win. But US sports have a lot of competitive measures that to us seem quite socialist, e.g. profit sharing, the draft, publicly funded stadia.

But now it' s the Milton Keynes Dons at home in their first fixture back in the Football League next month,followed by Wimbledon away,then back-to-back home games against Walsall and Swindon. I hope I'm not jinxing anything but I think they're set up very well to fly high in the fourth tier upon their return after 15 years away. I expect also-promoted Notts County,who've always been a very up-or-down team,to fare very well next season too. Both have lots of momentum and they have to be doing something very right to notch up over 100 points each in their promotion campaign.

0:50 onwards tells me all I need to know about their intentions... the way he talks about losing/relegation first and then follows it up with winning/promotion is an indication of them wanting to bring the club up to higher leagues... it's a good business model after all, buy a low tier club, refine it into a high tier one, profit.

Don't think they'll need to worry about promotions and relegations through the leagues. They should concentrate on the league they are stuck in for now. Listening to these two cranks makes our NL title last season that little more sweet.

I can't see supporting a team that I know will never win the league and will also never get a champions league berth. Most European sports leagues are so unequal and unfair. Soccer is perhaps the most extreme, but rugby union, basketball, ice hockey have the same issues, plus other sports too. European sports are so hyper capitalist that it takes the fun away for me. The uniforms are also horrific, it always looks like you're playing for a corporation, you can hardly make out a team name, city, or logo on the uniforms.

Also, I can't say I've seen fans cry over American Football teams or Canadian Football teams either. I've only really seen grown men cry over baseball teams winning championships. Red Sox and Cubs titles in the last 20 years made a lot of people cry with joy. The White Sox championship too!

Comparing NFL fans to Premier League fans is ridiculous. There isn’t the passion or authenticity in any American sports because you are just supporting a franchise. Football fans are millions times more passionate, smarter inventive with the songs and funny. Even American kids are switching away from American sports now to soccer because it is a real sport with real emotion and not cheerleaders trying to create exciting. Stop forcing American sports into the conversation. American sports are all dying because they are not popular outside of America with the exception of basketball and they were all bad sports that relied on marketing and are not actually fun to watch
