@@nicestoriesnottherealstori3006 Itll still be some time before theyre at the premiere league, even if they get promoted every year from now on, we're still talking 3 years. Ryan Renolds is oroving to be a shrewd and effective businessman. The bigger deal isnt the net worth of the 2 actors however, its the exposure they bring to the club. Through the documentary and the reach of the actors, hes brought MAJOR money into a previously national league club (there is zero way Expedia would ever sponsor a national league club otherwise). This seems to be a big part of their plan given every interview about the club they discuss their plans of increasing exposure. It seems they may plan to make up for their inherent lack of net worth for extremely lucrative sponsorship deals.

Well, Chelsea had that, the only down side is that he is a war criminal. If you look at Abramovich as only a football club owner, he's easily the GOAT in any league and it's not even close. Boehly is one of the biggest clowns we've ever seen, and is more or less the Ted Lasso of PL owners, except he won't have any sort of redemption arc.

Liverpool were a dull second division cup until David Moore's built them into one of the greatest sides ever to the point they dominated British football for 20 years and won European cups galore. Abramovic was nothing special. He was losing 900k a week on Chelsea and it was rumoured he was thinking of selling at some point or raising season tickets to ridiculous prices.

This video got me emotional when you talked how many clubs are ruined by dishonest owners since recently my team Inter Zaprešić filed for bankruptcy and got disbanded, it's a club from my town and it won the first ever Croatian Cup, played in the Croatian top flight for the majority of the last 30 years, ending up in the 2nd tier for some years, but usually winning promotion pretty soon. We even had famous Croatian players in our club on loan from Dinamo Zagreb, like Modrić, Eduardo Da Silva, Lovren, Ćorluka... Couple of years ago some wealthy investors were about to buy the club and save it, but the pandemic changed everything, the deal didn't go through and the club is gone. 😢

Colin, Matt and the rest of the media guys at Wrexham are a true delight, they’ve said I’m welcome back any time. A return visit (dare I jinx it) in League 2, is simply a must. Thank you!

Brilliant video. I love the friendly people at lower league grounds. It's refreshing to see your videos about the people at clubs, what it means to them, to their community. The friendliest places I've been to (Ballymena, Stevenage, Stranraer and Torino) all share common values of a warm welcome and a love of the game, a love of their team. The media talk about the loyal and passionate supporters at clubs like Newcastle and yes they are passionate but no more so than supporters of Rochdale, Gillingham or Exeter, there just happens to be more of them. I've lived in Wrexham for a few years, never knew about the 1934 memorial date on their shirts, nice one. Great video

I was lucky enough to be able to watch a match in Wrexham at the end of a backpacking trip I went on. You are spot on about the people of Wrexham. Such kind, warm and welcoming people. I’m from Canada and I went to Wrexham because of the show ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ but I’ll be going back for the people. Hopefully next time I’ll be able to stay more than just a night.

I’m a Liverpool fan who was born in Liverpool but now lives in Hertfordshire, but I’ve seen some amazing things with smaller clubs since moving, I live near Stevenage and became a regular match goer there, the fan base for such a small town was fantastic and to this day I love that atmosphere, I need to make it goal this year to head up to Wrexham for a match.

this is a fantastic reportage, and I must say that with your way of reporting, you are being very genuine and truthful about this club... Even if your own heart lies elsewhere in another club, you're still reporting this in a completely honest, fantastic and lovingly way, and if this is your general way of reporting, I can't see it would be long before you're headhunted by some major news/sports channel, that's for sure... 👏👏👏

Great vid. As someone who has been a Liverpool supporter from overseas since I was a wee tyke, it almost seems somewhat natural that I'm now also supporting AFC Wrexham as well given their close proximity geographically. The backstory of the club and all its up and downs over the years really resonated with me.

When you mentioned about the disaster of 1934, I actually went down Gresford pit a year before they closed it that was 1973, quite amazing 50 years ago, but the two new owners have done a wonderful job of uniting the Wrexham area they are honest, sincere, and generally interested and concerned with the future of the football club.

What a great video Nieve! I recognised your youtube handle, but wasn't sure where from, and was about to comment how Wrexham's situation reminded me very much of the takeover/salvation of my own club, Bolton. How it brought the town together and got fans back together behind the team and gave us something to believe in, both on the pitch and off - our chairperson is the gift that keeps on giving. Then I looked at your previous videos and realised you miiiiiiight already have drawn the same comparisons :D Awesome video, hope for more of the same. Best of luck with the channel; subbed!

I'm hoping that Rob and Ryan have set off a chain of events that would show that smart business investors would make more money by actually investing into these clubs just as they have. If they stick to their business model, they would not only transformed Wrexham into a popular football destination, they would have doubled or tripled their money in a short period of time. Not only have they put the spotlight onto Wrexham, but also on club owners across the UK.
