No, it’s the same reason why we didn’t count Jaws landing, the ride away on the landing has to be completely clean. Joslin immediately went sideways and skirted out, and Jaws broke his tail and never had to deal with the tail rebound on his landing as a result since the impact was absorbed by the break. Many skateboarders have made clean landings at El Toro with ollies and even a couple with nollies, but to this day we’ve only seen a single clean landing there following a flip trick

@EyeseeUriP the truck axles were bent on impact, the trucks didn’t literally break though. I believe he was riding on hollow axles when he made this attempt, but the impact is too great for hollows, El Toro should only be attempted on solid axle trucks. That makes it even harder since the board will be heavier, but it’s the only realistic way to land a flip trick there and ride away clean, that drop is massive!

It's the biggest heartbreak in skateboarding. I'm 42 and it keeps me up lol. If the truck doesn't break, he rolls away and pretty much goes down in history as the greatest skateboarder alive

@@robertbarnhart7791 haha, same man, I'm 43 and I tell anyone who will listen that it counted. It couldn't have gotten any closer, but I get that there will always be an asterisk on it. But, he did do the Davis gap, and rolled away from El Toro, so he for sure could have pulled it if the spot was still open and he had a better setup. It's crazy that skaters have pushed themselves to such an extent that the hardware, literal wood and metal, can't keep up with them. Did you see that clip of Jaws doing the Lyons gap, or some other ridiculous gap, and the wheel pulled straight off the truck. Both bearings and the nut, just completely blew off. Never seen anything like it. I've personally seen people bend trucks, but that was next level.

Waited in line like it was high school lmao. But with CJ and El Toro I loved that he ollied the thing both times like it was nothing, and just throwing yourself down that monster that many times defies logic! He has more heart than anyone.

I had originally thought Joslin’s bushings blew out, but the official story was revealed that the trucks both bent on the landing. I’m guessing he made the attempt using hollow axle trucks and this particular stunt will apparently require solid axle trucks because of the force of the landing. Jaws also couldn’t get a qualified landing because his board decks kept breaking on impact. We’d even count Jaws last landing following a Kickflip Melon if it weren’t for him riding away with a broken tail
