Who's excited for Happy Gilmore 2 in 2025?! Note: this is a re-upload! I've had quite a few videos blocked this year, so i'm re-editing and re-uploading blocked reactions over November. Hope you don't mind! I've got some new reactions currently sitting in KZbin purgatory. Super frustrating, but I'll get those out ASAP! Definitely struggling more than ever with reaction video uploads. But as always, I'll persevere! Rest assured, I'm always working away in the background 🤙

Bro, I’m still devastated that Bob Barkwr died 3½ months before his 100th birthday. I watched that man every day when I was not in school on _The Price Is Right_ in the ’80s and ’90s, and I remember at the atart of a show in ’96 or ‘97 he talked about the movie a little and how swearing was so foreign to him as well as being violent since he usually, ya knoe, gave away cars and money ion TV. Thank fuck someone had the good sense to create a channel devoted to his best episodes. It’s one of my favorites (TPiR The Barker Era) to stream.

INTERESTING FUN FACT: There was no pro golf career, Subway endorsement, fistfight with Bob Barker, or romance with a future star of Modern Family, but the character of Happy Gilmore was inspired by one of Adam Sandler's real life friends. Kyle McDonough, an aspiring hockey star who sent the ball flying on the golf course, eventually joined the British Hockey League and spent some time on the ice in Norway. Also, The Price Is Right host Bob Barker, was a former Navy Pilot and earned his Black Belt in Karate under the tutelage of none other than, Chuck Norris. So yes, he could actually fight.

Actually, a lot of the golfing/putting is real. Christopher McDonald (Shooter) begged to shoot his final shot for real, and the director humored him and said they'd take the footage after a few attempts and piece it together and get a crowd reaction before wraping. They used the genuine shot and crowd reaction of his 2nd put, and he's doing all his "Shooterisms" at the director for making it.

The alligator scene where he puts his hand inside and takes it out quickly doesn't happen in real life. The alligator has a much faster reaction time then his hand pulling away, he would of been caught and most likely lost the hand, but it's a movie so yeah.
@Armaldo468
@Armaldo468 15 күн бұрын
Alligators are so damn fast in almost all their movements, it’s insane. They might look somewhat sluggish to the untrained eye, but snap your fingers, and bam-they’ve already lunged forward at least half their own body length. And yet for all their speed, strength, and general badassery, they can be just as loving as dogs. (You ever seen videos of people calling to their alligator or crocodile friends? Precious. Obviously you can’t expect to magically make friends with one in the wild just because you want to, but hell, that still applies to dogs if you don’t play your cards right. Crocodilians are just a hell of a lot more powerful. The only species that’s ever truly unreasonable is mankind.) Incredible animals, and easily among my favorites.

Probably said this the first time you posted it, but you've got to check out The Cable Guy (1996), the most underrated Jim Carrey comedy. It's the one time he made a black comedy and audiences didn't like it, so Liar Liar was considered a bit of a comeback project for him. Main reason I'm recommending it here is because it's directed by Ben Stiller (and received an uncredited script pass by Judd Apatow), hot off making the cult favorite "Ben Stiller Show." If you liked seeing Stiller play a darker kind of character, the movie might be a big hit for you.

@Armaldo468
@Armaldo468 15 күн бұрын
Ellis was the idiot trying to appease the bad guys, right? Shooter McGavin is the bigger douche, hands down. This guy epitomizes the word.
@stevesheroan4131
@stevesheroan4131 15 күн бұрын
@ Yeah, Ellis is the guy hitting on John McClaine’s wife right in front of him, and does the “show him the watch” bit right before his smug “It’s a Rolex” line, then hits us with the “Hans….Booby” line. I don’t know, if you go back and watch Die Hard again you may decide it’s a closer race than you think. Ellis even throws in some Xenophobia for us with his “I sign million dollar contracts for breakfast, I think I can handle this Euro-trash”. He’s really a world class d-word himself, lol.
@Armaldo468
@Armaldo468 15 күн бұрын
@@stevesheroan4131 Oh god. Good point. I wasn’t thinking about all that stuff; for some reason I primarily tend to think of Ellis’s embarrassingly clumsy efforts to smooth things over with Hans and his boys-even straight up getting himself killed thanks to his lack of foresight. (Because presenting yourself as a friend of someone the bad guys are trying to snuff out is in no way a terrible idea.🙄🤦‍♂️) I was thinking he wasn’t so douchey in that part, but yeah, it’s a closer contest than I was thinking. I do think Shooter is more of an ill-willed son of a bitch than Ellis (I suspect Shooter likely would have sold everyone out for his own gain, had he been in Ellis’s shoes), but in terms of overall douchiness, I’m not sure I can even decide. They’re both crap people.
@stevesheroan4131
@stevesheroan4131 15 күн бұрын
@@Armaldo468 I think Ellis probably withheld the info about Holly being John's wife in hopes that if Hans dispatched John it would leave the door open for Ellis to swoop in. That would probably take him out of douche territory and put him in the scumbag pool-along with Carter Burke from Aliens.

@RyanCarrington
@RyanCarrington 19 күн бұрын
God, I haven't enjoyed a Subway for years! I used to be a Subway addict and visited way too many ropey establishments. But, it used to be a Meatball Marinara with southwest and sweet onion sauce. Always had corn in there as well. Integral! I just went to Vegas, and my mate bought a Subway in a casino that cost him $20. What made it worse was that they didn't have any of the salad and sauces he would've had in the UK. So he basically bought a sandwich he didn't really like, for a ridiculous price 💀

One of them is The Crow, which I was hoping to have out for Halloween! That gives an idea of how long I spend in the background trying to get reactions uploaded 💀 It's so annoying but comes with the territory. Although, it's way worse than it used to be.
