It's not a very family-friendly song, but for most of November, its associated holiday is closer than Christmas. I don't want to be a Grinch, but I find that if Christmas starts too early, I end up waiting for it to be over instead of anticipating it.

In Canada we have Thanksgiving in October. As a Canadian child, it confused me why tv shows were airing Thanksgiving episodes in late November. As an adult before the pandemic, I wondered why Americans want two turkey feast gatherings so close together lol I like how we Canadians have it spaced out: Thanksgiving, Halloween, Rememberance Day, Christmas, New Years. Its not exactly turkey overkill, as leftovers can last forever (depending on the family.) These days such family/friend gatherings seems almost like a pipedream and it makes me both nostalgic and sad. But I guess I'm not the only one feeling that last part.
