I can’t thank you enough! I used "Curve -> Curve Spirals -> Spheric" just because I could not take control over the "Curve -> Bezier", It just did not want to move as I wanted :) May be after I finish this I'll try to create second edition with the "Curve -> Bezier" :) 01:40 000740 02:06 0E1436 20:08 082C00 37:16 FFB400

Yeah, someone else in the comments let me know about that as well. I wish I had thought of that spiral curve before making the tutorial. I speeds up the workflow and makes it much easier.

With free Addon "Add Curve : Extra Objects", you can add "curve spirals archemedian" then adjust it. And that's all ! It's faster :). Otherwise I also wanted to thank you for your wonderful tutorial. I needed it !
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Oh cool, I will check that out. Thanks for the tip!
@DreamOfHero3 жыл бұрын
for have a faster adjustment you can also add a cone, size it to the height of the tree (from the start of branches) and add Shrinkwarp modifier to the archemedian curve (with cone as target, I put the option outside surface and 0.03 as distance). after that I do a random selection and move some point to look more natural.

This helped me: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5_Kl6Jrh6qebq8 I also didn't want to go through the pain of placing those curves by hand, especially when the tree branches were so dense.

Hey guys, merry christmas. a little tip for seeing the curve easier when placing it on the tree is to go into the viewport shading settings and change color from material to random. so now the two meshes will be different colors

If you can't do the Ctrl + Shift + Click on the Object Info, make sure you have Node:Wrangler turned on. Edit > preferences > add-ons > search > node:wrangler > check the box, and down at the bottom menu check auto-save prefences. Great tutorial!

if u cant see the cord still that much when u wrap around the tree, go to random in the viewport shader settings. under color. It wll make the cord a different color then the tree

Hey Ryan, first of all, thank you for all the tutorials you've been giving us, they're very clear and don't beat around the bush. Second, if you don't mind, can you share your PC specs? Because I'm planning to buy my own PC for my future 3D projects. Of course, you don't need to, if you want to keep that info private Thanks once again!

Lights are usually distributed evenly along the cord. Is there a way to do that with a particle system?
@RyanKingArt3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, They are even along the cord. I wanted to do that in the tutorial, but I don't think there is a way to do that with the particle system. I might be wrong though. If you figure out a way to do that, I'd love to know about it!
@logicalinertia2 жыл бұрын
Ryan - Thanks! You have the best tutorial out there for a realistic Christmas Tree! I found a way to make the lights distribute evenly with the particle system, instead of the random clumping. Duplicate the bezier curve (I named the original "lights path", and the duplicate "lights wire") Change the Geometry Bevel Depth to 0, so you only end up with vertex (no faces). Convert curve to mesh. Add the particle system but change the Source to Vertices and uncheck the Random Order box. For the "lights wire" curve, adjust the Bevel Depth for the size and add the 'Cord' color. Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to more of your great tutorials!@@RyanKingArt

Hey King Ryan please help me I've got 2 issues, for some reason if I get super close to my models or anything at all for this tutorial mainly the Christmas tree blender just doesn't allow me to get close and makes it hard to zoom back out again, AND when I go into render mode to look at it, is all pixelated and dark I even turned my light all the way up to 2000 power instead of the 1000 you have.
@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, did you add an HDRI in the world to help with lighting? Also, maybe scale up all of the objects in your scene, to fix the zooming in problem.
@AwesomeBattleIsKindaCoolBruh2 жыл бұрын
@@RyanKingArt Okay sweet, and yes I did add the artist HDRI thing in the background. But it is still very dark and hard to see a long with pixelated, I tried uping my viewpoint and render but that did not help as much.
