Groove rock is much older than most people listening to this video. Groove, funk and soul infused rock has been around since the late sixties. And this is exactly what Manners is, a low down dirty groove. Just as nasty as anything I have ever heard. But with that Band Maid touch. Thank you Kanami. You are the best.
@cembor3 жыл бұрын
A literal FZCK TON to unpack here. :) Yes, that's Miku singing on Sayonakidori. She has had lead songs on just about every album prior to Conqueror (which didn't have a Miku song) so they brought it back for UW. Miku also plays the solo on the song as well. Absolutely GORGEOUS song. She's played it 2x live now with mixed success. Its a difficult song for her play and sing especially the third verse with the fast, long, high notes. So proud of pigeon though. This is easily THE HIDDEN GEM on the album...especially Kanami's solo in the coda...easily one of my favorites from her. HGK I have a love/hate relationship with. I hate the way it starts and EVERY. TIME. it comes on I'm like, ugh... this song. Then it gets to the chorus I am sitting there banging my head grooving along... and MISA's bass throughout saves it for me with the icing on the cake being "You're like a rockstarrrrrrrrrrr" Great song but my least favorite on the album. LOL... why why why... that is EXACTLY the reaction I expected from you! Also the same reaction I had first time hearing it! This song is definitely one of my Top 3 songs from the album. Just a pure, IN YOUR FACE, rock song that comes out swinging and never lets up. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. Akane's bass kicks and MISA's bass are RELENTLESS on this song and I FUCKIN" LOVE IT and Miku's shouts at the beginning and end are THE PERFECT bookends for this song. GOD I LOVE THIS SONG! Chemical Reaction - clearly Mincho and MISA were listening to some 80s/90s stadium rock when they composed this. MISA had a heavy hand in this composition as well as Kanami. I mean its like what if Band-Maid decided they wanted to sound like Motley Crue... and here you go.. Chemical Reaction. Akane's drums just scream Tommy Lee to be but without all the creepiness associated with Lee. THIS. THIS SONG. is the one I want to see live in a 10,000+ capacity arena. Great work and the drawing is coming along nicely! The really sad thing is that this album was meant to be played at their debut at Nippon Budokan. Their first arena okyu-ji. When I first heard the album all I could think of was HOW FUCKING EPIC this would all sound in an arena.... and then the world stopped. Bittersweet feelings.... bittersweet my dude.

Sayonakidori: when you realize it's all Miku singing... She performed it great at the Online Okyu-ji. Sang and played very well, and hit the high note too. Kanami wanted to write her a solo that she could play live, so she wrote a nice chord based solo for her. I believe that Miku did not record her parts for this album due to time (I think it was this one) and Kanami played and recorded all her parts, but Miku needed to learn to play it all for the live shows.

Thank you for your wonderful reaction. As they actually said in the interview, this album presents the past and future of BAND-MAID. Whether this album is the direction they want to go in or just a one off album, I've enjoyed their more progressive experiment on Unseen World. I don't see the need for the decisiveness. I could understand if it wasn't up to par, but if id known this was the direction they were going, it would've far surpassed any hopes and expectations I could have had.
@Dtagcity3 жыл бұрын
Considering what they’ve repeatedly stated about the 2 part structure- Progress representing their current evolved self while Roots as an ode to their past and where they originated from, I actually feel UW is just the held back version of the progressive direction they’re planning to go. The fact that they felt the need to dedicated half an album to cushion the longtime fans makes me absolutely hyped for what’s to come. That said, I don’t think they’re necessarily going heavy, just more technical whether it’s metal, bluesy or pop. Pretty sure their catalogue would remain as diverse as now but much more layered and refined. I personally am looking forward to either a metalcore track or lofi. Kanami did mention listening to lofi while writing Giovanni and about a certain track with blast beats that she wasn’t able to finish in time for UW. So yeah, their next album will likely be the most interesting one of them all.

Sayonakidori is my favorite track on UW, Miku did amazing and hopefully she'll get better at not worrying while playing it live :D

Hey, I can write comments again. Good to see you doing more Band Maid. Good job on your drawing. For some reason for several days I couldn't post comments on KZbin and I have no idea why. Now, miraculously, I can. I tried to put something on another one of your reactions but was thwarted. If you can ever find it do HONEY (bonus cut) on the Domination album. It's a cover but great.

Can't wait until you release your reaction to Giovanni. Maybe my favorite on the album.

There IS a live version of Chemical Reaction. You should add that to your reaction list.

Love Miku's song, Syonakidori, she is a great singer in her own right.

Just enjoy an hour of trio reaction: Chase -> Axe -> Wave before my sleep yesterday. And now I am having my breakfast with the Ryan react to 2nd act of unseen world album (I categorized this songs as the 2nd act of the album). B-M reactions/reviews overloaded. So good. May be you are shocked/impress on your first listen, but I prefer you to read the lyrics when you listen again.

After listening to this and thinking a bit i wonder if one of the thing that make them so great is that even if you took out the vocal line the music seems like it would still be a great instrumental i would still listen to and like. Though the vocal line just makes it even better :). Love your vids, the smile on your face ads a big smile here too. Keep it up and that's a great drawing.

Niiiice!. What a great 30 minutes. Sayonakidori is a song sung by Miku. It's something traditional (except in the album Conqueror) that she has one vocalist song. The rest are Time and Rock in Me, both very interesting.

Okay. The drawing: Quick, name which direction Lincoln is facing on a penny. You've seen a penny a bazillion times, right? Still, it's a tough question to answer. I've seen the picture you are drawing a LOT, but I couldn't have told you to save my life what order the MAIDS appear. In a previous video, you began drawing an eye. Within SECONDS I knew it was Saiki. I'm serious. Mere SECONDS (or maybe it's "Mear seconds"....ugh...) Anywhens, I had a thought during "Chemical Reaction". I'd love to see that LIVE...as the opening song. Talk about an ENTRANCE! I just don't know if the building would still be standing after it. And "Why, Why, Why" just blows me right...the phuch...away. Thanks Ryan!!

Syonakidori is the most solid Miku song so far. It's got the feel of Rock In Me but heavier and more technical.

Love it but my favourite Miku's lead vocal song is Time. I just love the feeling she sings it with and the lyrics are great too.

Ryan (about time I let slip "dear" and "mate" as they sound a bit too obvious!)! My Dragon will love you if she sees the Moomin-like dogs on your T-shirt! Syonakidori must be Miku's best song so far! For all the speedy and sometimes tense music it is a sad song, with her mentioning a loved one who abandoned her after stealing her heart. She sings as if she wanted to throw everything to the winds and run and run away from pain. When you understand Japanese it becomes heart-wrenching, which might not sound obvious to non speakers! Haunting! Take good care of yourself (ves)!

SYONAKIDORI is proof that Miku's voice alone cannot carry a song. She doesn't have the range and power in her voice like Saiki. This shows how important Saiki is in the overall picture of the music. But it takes real greatness to realize this and take a step back and let someone else do the job like Miku did. Huge respect to her for that. Band-Maid would not be where they are now without this decision of Miku. P.S. I just noticed in the drawing that in all faces the left half of the face is disfigured but in Saiki's case the right half. But she is the only left-handed person in the group. Coincidence?
@Davey-Boyd2 жыл бұрын
Miku may not be as powerful as Saiki. But she has a MUCH greater range, both higher and lower. And she can carry a song very well.
@RyanMear2 жыл бұрын
Having seen them live several times now, I would not criticize either singer. To do so is ridiculous at this point. They are both fantastic
@Davey-Boyd2 жыл бұрын
@@RyanMear Agreed. They are not only both perfect at what they do, they even compliment each other so well. Just re-watched you fall in love with Band-Maid. After your No God reaction (your second time hearing them) I was like 'Oh Ryan, if you only knew how much this band will be part of your life in the future'! 🥰

I'm out of the loop on the divisive album bit. But although Unseen World isn't my personal favorite album of theirs ("Just Bring It" is for sentimental reasons as it brought so much of the rock sound I'd missed) I have to say Unseen World is one of those albums that belongs in any must have record collection. They obviously put a lot of work into it.

19:03 I don't know if you've heard of Vocaloid yet, but I'm pretty sure that beginning was inspired by their song Senbonzakura sung by Hatsune Miku - one of the vocaloids model. It's got a really cool cover by Wagaki Band.
