I have been trying to emulate Mincho's playing since I first started listening to them over two years ago. But she does things I still can't figure out. She is so original in her phrasing. But man I am having so much fun trying. Her playing is unreal.
@RyanMear3 жыл бұрын
Definitely! I think one of the main things is, if you listen to the rythm, to hum or imagine the solo, then play that regardless of what makes "sense" or not.
@SteveBalderrama3 жыл бұрын
Mincho loves to play with timing and even when not obviously syncopating she still may play ahead or drag the beat at will. It's why her feel is so hard to copy. And of course she doesn't much care what scale is "supposed" to be used for a given harmony. I love her dissonance. Reminds me of Larry Lalonde from Primus.

Love the fails and then owning up to it... made me LOL for sure. I also discovered this track not too long ago, and as one of their earlier ones, the instruments are not too complex, but this was still during the time where they did a lot more twin vocals, and dual leads as you mentioned. Saiki still does more it seems but I like hearing Miku mixed as a lead vocal as well. The chorus is what hooks me to this song for sure.

KANAMI does it like this - - - please note the Octave: Digitech Drop. This is a dedicated polyphonic DROP tune pedal that allows you to DROP your tuning from one semitone all the way down to a full octave. - - - - From KANAMI's radio interview. PRS Custom 24 (Purple) Mahogany Body - I have tried other guitars as well. Among those I’ve tried, PRS was the perfect guitar for my image of BAND-MAID songs. PRS Custom 24 (Green) Korina Body Amps Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier 4×12 Recto Standard cabinet Effects - When I compose, I don’t think much about the effects. I use it to enhance the songs I've already written live. Here are the typical settings of my pedalboard: Delay: Free The Tone FT-2Y, Eventide TimeFactor - I prefer using Digital Delay on the TimeFactor and on the H9, I use Spring Reverb. I use Free The Tone FT-2Y in a series circuit because it adds delays to a set tempo. TimeFactor is used to connect sends and return effects to clean and solo channels. On the other hand, I use H9 only for songs that use reverb. Currently, I only use it for reverb, but I would like to try more algorithms in the future. Reverb: Eventide H9 - I am a big fan of Eventide's so I want to keep using it forever! Volume: Shin’s Music Perfect Volume Drive: One Control Strawberry Red Overdrive, Fulltone Obsessive Compulsive Drive Overdrive Distortion - I use the boost pedal to add more gloss and deepness in the clean channel or to amplify the sound of the solo or riff. Ryan! Coming back to that particular song and reaction. I am on Chile red wine, but I had a couple of great sake cups before the Dragon came back from work... This is one their rare songs better enjoyed for the sake (I am on wine, ah ah! Cheap, very cheap joke...) of listening at any chosen moment than at a live concert. It has this almost impossible to translate French expression, "lancinant" (hard to get rid of, insistent as for pain, hurting as the part "lance" would infer) quality to it. It stays and stays with you, not letting you away (for sheer insistent pleasure). The kind of song you will find yourself humming away... Lucky I write about gastronomy and tourism for work, or I would end up justifying myself to perplexed fans all day! So many times have I heard I am an impossible big head! Your fault? While nothing like it musically this song is subject wise like that old pop song Harden my Heart. Here a lady wronged is going to sleep from now on by the freezer in her house in order to become just as cold hearted as the idiot who screwed her around. As an aside l still cannot fathom the small but vocal sub group of "fans" who continue to say who cares about the lyrics. I just bop along to the cool music. Not only is that wrong it completely denies who the band is and what Miku is saying in her lyrics. Talk about disrespect. And here is the thing. All these "music lovers" certainly have things in life they love and care about. And if any band who made the best music in the world were to sing about, in an extremely derogatory fashion, those things they hold dear l seriously doubt they would support or listen to that band. Pretend a person thinks Jimmy Page is a super guitarist (he is) and pretend that person goes to a show he stars in and Jimmy begins singing about how our music lover's sister is a hooker and how his father molests. Can anyone really say they would sit and listen and applaud that? So, if this is true, how can anyone say l don't care or need to know the words to a song? Probably those who think Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift are great acts. If you don't understand Miku's words you will NEVER understand Band-Maid. And l understand that is hardly a priority for the majority. Doesn't make it right though, does it? Regards. Keep up the good work. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.
