I imagined Ibanez's management sat around seeing this video with smug expressions in their faces, looked at each other, and said "Our freakin' awesome endorsed artists, ladies and gentlemen !"

The past, present, and future, all rolled up into one. Mind-blowingly beautiful. Some of the most complex playing I've ever heard, but with such emotion and severe feeling. Then Mr. Vai shows up. Unreal.

For so many guitarists, you can watch their hands and understand what’s happening. With Tim, even at 1/4 speed, you have to rewind to keep up with his hands. His pick hand is like a fucking spider running up and down the strings. And half of them aren’t even picked, they’re plucked, which just adds this other level of awe to it. Dudes got 5 fingers and 7 strings. And never misses a string. You can’t convince me he doesn’t reveal two extra fingers when the camera points away.

Steve Vai is amazing, that solo he did gave me goosebumps. His style fits way too much to Polyphia, his constant use of the whammy bar while soloing and him using these dissonant chords and notes first to create tension and then the cool drop here7:17 before releasing all the build up tension followed in the end the epic tree harmonizing guitar solos is just amazing, this is great example of great instrumental songwriting. Definetly my favorite Polyphia song. I was not sure to feel about it first with Henson's solo at the begining but Scottie's part followed by Vai just made the song for me

I ended up watching the Closeout ZOOM Meeting between Steve Vai and Polyphia. It was just after the video wrapped up and had just been released. I wasn't expecting much. I almost didn't watch it, but it was in my headphones while I was working on work stuff and let it play. After the regular business stuff and casual talk ... I was immediately struck by the Polyphia guys humility. LOOK AT THE GROUND and almost wait to be spoken to. The questions they were asking Steve were super telling ... and Steve's answers were extremely candid. It felt like I was eavesdropping on a mentorship. I loved how when Tim was asking Steve about how to navigate the politics of this ever evolving music industry ... Steve flat out said that he wanted to ask Polyphia the same question because he would probably learn more from the guys moving forward then he could teach them about how he got there. That turned into a long talk about industry issues from Vai's perspective. The mutual respect was a breath of fresh air after trying to navigate social media lately. Steve went into depth about why he took Polyphia under his wing and the guys were more than happy to be there. I have a feeling that due to the chemistry I witnessed this might just be the beginning of a long and creative relationship. Steve Vai came off as a wise man prophesying the best thing about Polyphia is 10 years away, not the music they will wright so much as the music they will inspire.

That is awesome, I didn't know about that zoom vid. Is it still up? I love listening to Vai in interviews, he is such a wealth of information and he doesn't bullshit. He always showed respect to other musicians. It is cool to hear about this interaction, thanks 👍

I'm late to the party but I've watched the official video last night and I was blown away by this song. And I was blown away even before Steve Vai appeared in the MV. He's just the icing on the cake. For me, this is by far Polyphia's best song. Very complex but also very catchy with that hunting melody. I appreciated your reaction Ryan, as always ;)

The most compelling Ibanez advert ever! LOL Seriously tho, despite having *all* the technique available to him, Vai's maturity & depth of musicality saw him choose here to play lyrically, with a healthy dollop of good ol' *human emotion* which balances out the lads' übertechnicality a treat imho. Great piece. :)
