Love the Juno Pier videos, me and my dad used to fish there from the time it opened through 2008, brings back a lot of good memories. Now I'm in Red Tide Land (Tampa Bay) so I'll just be watching other people catch fish for a few months.

George Moody my uncle used to own the Juno Motel -- a small 8-room (and he lived in one of them) right by the OLD wooden pier There were no high-rises, beach houses -- just his motel, a gas station/convenience store and a small diner. My Mom and Dad took my sister and me up there from Miami every so often and we would fish and swim for a few days. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that was when I was 10 and that was 1958.

Thanks for explaining the use for heavy tackle, I’m not a conventional fan but what spinning real size would you recommend? 6k Saragossa? Almost locked down drag ?
@RyanMorie3 жыл бұрын
More like a 10000PG. The 6k doesn’t nearly have the cranking power you’d really want. Additionally you’d want to add a heavier mono top shot like (40-50lb) as braid is very unforgiving on these pilings.

What are your thoughts on the stradic FL versus the Vanford in a 3000 size
@RyanMorie3 жыл бұрын
Both great reels. They’re essentially the same thing with different body materials. The Vanford isn’t worth an extra $20 IMO because the FL is plenty light for my purposes. It’s definitely a personal preference

Losing hooks in the fish isn’t the problem, It’s fish getting off the hook 😂 I went to the Okalossa Island Pier and had a massive King strike my X-Rap and miss. The guy beside me was fishing for BoBos and was watching me jig it through the water while high up on the pier like that, we were both like “Oh My, Damnn” we just stop for a second, make eye contact and continue to fish like it never happened.
