I LOVE Cherry Blossom trees. I named my cat Sakura after the much loved Japanese Cherry Trees. They have so many Cherry Blossom trees in Japan and they are loved. My niece would post pictures of them all in a row down the main street where she lived. She is back in Canada but was in Japan over 10 years! She needed to be on solid ground. Everyday they have earthquakes. Loved your 10 minute painting as usual Ryan. You are truly gifted as an artist. I was binging on Bob Ross videos this week LOL Slapping the devil out of his almighty brush. hahaha! then saw you uploaded and had to stop to come here. LOL

Stay Creative Painting. I am recovering from getting my top last 9 teeth extracted yesterday. My face and top lip are so swollen I look like I had a big lip injection. LOL In pain however managing it ok. I just got some Faber Castell colouring pencils and a Graphite starter kit and Derwent Metallic pencil crayons so am having fun with these. I am trying out different brands to see which are my favourite. LOL Thing is they all have their unique qualities. Hahaha. Look forward to your next video. They were doing a clearance sale at Toys R Us and they had their 12 ct for 5$ 24 ct for 9$ and 60 ct for like 15$ I was floored. LOL

Bernhard Senger are you making art? Then you’re an artist. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise!

I am using paint as you, but when adding the black on the mountain am having great difficulties blending as the wet in wet is not working. Do you dry the blue first?
@RyanORourkeArtist6 жыл бұрын
I actually try to keep the blue fairly damp when adding my mars black so that I get a smooth blend. I would suggest using a very minimal amount of black as it can quickly overwhelm the other colors and ensure that there is a fair amount of blue and white at the top of the mountain. Hope that helps!

Hey Ryan, What are your thoughts on acrylic mediums and retarders that slow the drying process of acrylics? Would you recommend them for slower painters?
@RyanORourkeArtist6 жыл бұрын
Hey Richard, that's a great question. While I do feel like mediums and retarders can help the painting process I much prefer to simply use water. I've found that I can get most things done and done well by using a damp brush, as I did here in this episode. It allows you to drag the paint farther, keep the paint wet longer and apply small strokes. Though, I would suggest that you begin with the 'less is more' mentality, at least initially. Too much water can quickly make your layers seemingly transparent. I hope that helps!

would it make sense if I add a bridge on the back instead of a mountain?

I don't have purple acrylic color... Can u tell how to make purple color (just like in the painting) by mixing other colors. It will be really helpful...

Superstar Minahil04 Mix red and blue?
@dreaminaah076 жыл бұрын
Alicja Lipinska... I tried but i couldn't get a bright shade of purple like shown in the video...
@RyanORourkeArtist6 жыл бұрын
I simply mix primary red and primary blue together, as Alicja suggested. As I incorporated brighter pinks/purples I added additional titanium white. As I incorporated darker pinks/purples I added mars black. These will slightly desaturate your pigments but that really isn't a bad thing and if you want it to be very vibrant at the end you can do a thin glaze of primary red. Hope that helps :)

Superstar Minahil04 Blue and red create purple. Try different ratios to get the shade you want. Try darkening with black and lightening with white. Good luck!
