To make the rotation follow the path, use the 'modify with' heading option on the angle control of the transform of your arrowhead.
@gradingcafe11 ай бұрын
Yeah thats the best solution I think. But it might be also easier to do it with a Polygon in general, or is it?
@RyanOsborneUK11 ай бұрын
Can’t believe I overlooked this! Thank you bud 🙏

I find that will fail if the path has multiple points (curves) and you have easing, then the object gets detached from the actual tip... kinda annoying
@ShadowMakerSdR4 ай бұрын
@@HardIsEasy This is because - at least until Fusion 18 - I don't know if Fusion 19 adresses this - the movement doesn't take the aspect ratio of the image into account. If you work on square images everything lines up without issue.
@HardIsEasy4 ай бұрын
@@ShadowMakerSdR wait two thoughts… first all my aspect ratios do match so there shouldn’t be any problems? But gonna test on square aspect ratios although this is already sounding funny who works with square footage anyway :)))

I love your pragmatic approach to these animation challenges - using a font for the arrowhead isn't a "hack", it's working smart! Also, as of this writing (10/7/2023), the "download free stuff" link in the above description is giving a 404 [not found] error.

Nothing wrong with using a font for the arrow graphic but there's plenty of tutorials out there on how to make something follow a path both with the position and the angle. And not copying any paths (which only makes it messier if you want to adjust the path) but instead using a published path. No need for complicated expressions to do that. Though a simple expression to connect the arrows displacement on the path to the Write On of the path does streamline things. There's simply a better way of getting the results of the "complicated" way in this tutorial. Other than that, lovely presentation as usual:)

Very nice! 👍. I will try the 'Cool Way'. I think, this will help me. And - I think the 'Cool Way' can be applied with a Adjustment-Clip. So I get a Master Bin too 🙂. *Attention* 8:29: Missing PolylineStroke1 > Start / End It's importand that you set the keyframes showed at 5:56 If you do so, you will get the Start / End - choice an 8:29 🙂. I try to make animated, CURVED arrows by using ... sPolygon for curved line sNGon for arrowhead sMerge them sTransform for editing Advantage: easy to create Disadvantage: change size (sTransform) 'destroys' proportions, little animations PS: Both Links broken. Only 404-Error. ad astra Andreas

Great stuff, Ryan! I've almost got three shots connected--no sound, effects, or color grading, as just doing what I have has taken what seems to be forever. This is how much of a dyslexic noob I am! Seeing how you did the moving arrow, I was hoping you would cover some related tricks on my list to master: I'd love to figure out how to have animations weave between people or objects. Another too tremendous variation for school is text or an object with a shadow. Do you have any tricks on either of those? I have done just enough videos in the past, in front of and behind the camera, to know how evil and brutal it is to do, and you do a remarkable job on all points! When I set up video production at home and with the advances in software, I've been a whimpering boob sitting in front of my monitor, softly weeping. You've given me a glimmer of hope. I have an attention span of a gnat, so I tend to dart around looking at things that catch my eye and going back over and over until I know everything about it. I'm an obsessive, which has its advantages and disadvantages.🙄 Why the hell do people study this stuff? Have you ever tossed that as a random question? Beyond my lofty goals of being a published author and screenplay writer, plus finding some dire reason why it is imperative to have me on set during a movie shoot?? Yeah, I have a backup plan. You see, until that falls in my lap, I've decided to focus on something I don't think anyone has marketed much--selling used cars. Ew? Why not use advanced cinematography to market objects that are thirty-five grand or so as an Average Price? Houses, of course, are another big market that needs more real-quality video used to market. What real estate agents are doing in DIY 3d presentations is pretty embarrassing to look at. I'll see you later; I've got to check out your video about speed custom effects. Setting aside macros from this vid was a big takeaway for me!

Not related, but I've been searching in vain for a tutorial on how to make a fusion preset for making an animated box text (like where the text is booleand out of the box) that has the rgb, kind of wavy border. Would be an excellent topic for a future video, if you're looking for ideas that is. In fact, just being able to do the RGB effect would be nice.
