Great information. It took me a long time to improve my range because my back was upright so I couldn't build power from the hips which is obviously inefficient mechanics.

You are absolutely right i shot with two didn’t even know till late last year. Once I started to record myself I have been developing my shot, I’m near perfect form with practicing close range shots, and working on form shooting constantly Not easy at first but once you keep working at it you will be straight.

Ty Ryan I have this problem where the ball would move first and my hips later. My shot in videos looked fluid, but I always couldnt bring enough energy in longer distances I think this video will help me out alot

Hey, that's amazing content! Your 1st part adresses the hand-wrist-arm mechanics of the shot; your 2nd part adresses the full-body mechanics. But I find myself struggling with the finer last-instant details of the shot: the fingers... like: 1) do you rest the ball on the phalanges or the methacarpals or the full palm; 2) do you stiffen the fingers at the moment of release or do you let the ball "spring" on them; 3) (most important!) do you "push" with any fingers, all of them? none? just the middle? middle + ring? index + middle?

The ball usually touches my head before shooting so I’m going to move it forward. I’ll need to change hand position to under the ball and guide hand so it comes off. Will changing all three at the same time be too much of a change? Especially with the season still going. Or one change at a time?

i recommend that you do a hopstep and see how you land. Normally, the way your body naturally lands will be the most powerful and stable stance. Just don't be too angled. straight for me is difficult because I like to have my setpoint right above my eyebrow

You say 'no one should learn to shoot with two hands', but what do you do if legit every you do is with your right hand (basketball and non-basketball stuff) apart from shooting? I am right handed for everything, even dribbling and layups and stuff, but I shoot with my left. Should I try and re-learn my shot? (the left hand shot is comfortable, but not so accurate - just need to work on it - and right hand is tight and awkward - also inaccurate - but right hand shot would have many more advantages, e.g. easy to pull up straight off the dribble). What would you recommend?
@AbdulRehman-cy1kv5 жыл бұрын
I’m also like this, but become dominant with the left hand. When playing ball, your LEFT HANDED, not right handed. Your right hand, when playing basketball, is your offhand.
@fabianbecerra69365 жыл бұрын
I'm not the coach but I'd say better learn all the other stuff with both hands and keep shooting with your left, it's more important to be able to dribble and make layups with both hands than threes.
