The term ‘sandwich’ comes from the Earl of Sandwich requesting his roast beef be placed between two slices of bread. This was so he could co to use playing some card game or something. So if it’s not on two slices of bread it’s not a sandwich.

If you ask an Australian if they want a Burger they ill expect it to be on a round bun, If you ask them if they want a sandwich they will expect to be between to slices of bread. If you ask them if the want a roll, they will expect it to be on a long bun (like Subway). Traditional burger buns in Australia are normally squarish and they smell really good.

If I want my sandwich fillings in a roll it's round, but made differently to a burger bun. Subway is just subway. I grew up with and still have sandwich meat with salad fixings in a roll, single or double cut - it's the norm at bakeries and delis etc. We also have the squarish flat rolls, but we tend to use them with Savoury slices (if yah know, yah know) in my neck of the woods.

This is why I find it so shocking that cats are currently allowed to roam! It's well known that they like to choose places like kids sandpits in their neighbour's yard as their toilet, putting pregnant women at really high risk, but currently powerless to do anything about the cat doing that! This is the reason so many cats get poisoned, really can't blame a lot of people for doing it. Needs to be proper legislation to protect all! Is a no brainer to me that rules should be the same as for dogs!

Why not wear gloves when gardening??
@mehere8038
@mehere8038 11 күн бұрын
@@heatherhoward2513 oh yeh, cause that solves the problem right? sarcasm there if that's not clear. Washing hands in theory stops it too, but real life is not so simple! Ever worn gloves while gardening? If so, exactly what gloves have you found effective? I have a mix of washing up gloves & leather gloves I use but none really work, washing up gloves get holes easily from the rough work, leather gloves don't stop water penetrating, which means your hands end up covered with mud that gets under your nails as it penetrates the gloves in liquid & fine sediment form & I am yet to find an effective way to clean leather gloves once they have that mud inside them, multiple cycles in the washing machine gets rid of a lot of it, but not all & it's a huge waste of power & water to wash them over & over like that, hence why I try washing up gloves for gardening in wet soil or anything where I will be using a hose, but again I still tend to find my hands & under my nails covered in fine mud, due to the holes in the gloves making them leak. Gardening gloves are good for preventing injuries from thorns & sharp rocks in the soil, but really not much else

To give a small amount of explanation about the new "ute tax", it's basically how they're classified... so it's that they're a commercial vehicle, so if it's registered under a personal registration it's a higher bracket, if it's however registered under a business it is on a variable slope - a white collar business is higher than blue collar - and primary producers are a separate category (ie. Farmers).

A burger can be anything you like. Main ingredient apart from the bun can be :- ground beef (risole), fish, thick ham, chicken, tofu, halloumi etc. Don't know why they call them hamburgers when typically there is no pork ingedients? PS Enjoy your reactions. Cheers

RYAN, RYAN, RYAN... a friendly correction. I see this in many of your postings and have finally got around to mentioning it. The plural of "Australian" is "Australians" NOT "Australian's". The apostrophe is only used to denote possession as in "the dog's tail" or "the Australian's pedantic correction postings". Happy arvo and peace out.

If it’s served on a bun then it’s a burger. If it’s served between two slices of bread then it’s a sandwich. A hamburger may not have any ham on it. You call it a hamburger if it has a meat patty. From the style of Hamburg, apparently. We Aussies do too. But a burger is on a bun regardless of the filling.

Part of the reason why utes are so common is their preferential tax treatment. Wondering how many of them are actually used for commercial purposes. Australia’s car manufacturing industry was driven away (see what I did there? Try the fish; I’m here til Tuesday) by the former conservative government. But the closure of factories started under the Hawke/Keating Labor governments in the early 1990s with the end of Nissan.

Ryan, those Yank tanks are stupidly expensive as they are all converted to Right hand drive by a Melbourne based manufacturer who used to convert our Holdens into Muscle cars. They cost from around $100,000 to $170,000. The F150 is stupid as its price ranges $250,000 to. $280,000 (AU).

@@WarLordArtos The version of the Pontiac GTO was a 3rd gen Monaro, which was effectively a suped up Commodore. But you're right, the OG Monaros were Australian - but the first gen initial badges used Chevy engines, they predate the classic Holden V8s by a few years.

If a hamburger is the meat and bun and only the two together (because meat without the bun is not a hamburger) then Chicken in a bun is a Chicken Burger. Follow the logic Americans. And the English created the Sandwich not a bun, but bread.

People who own outdoor cats don't think that their cats roam at night, but the reality is that they can and do roam up to as much as 1.5 km's from home, and kill whatever they can, just because they can. At one stage my older sister owned 18 cats that all lived outside. She swore black and blue that they were all harmless, but one evening after sundown I went for a walk around her 5 acre block of land and there was no wildlife to be found, not even any insects. The cats had killed everything. Then one day when my sister went to town and had one of her crazy cat lady melt downs the police took her to the Lismore base hospital for an assessment and she was locked up in the psych ward for 3 weeks and put on anti-psychotic meds. While she was locked up my mother arranged for all the cats to be removed and when my sister asked what happened to them my mom said they all ran away because they were starving to death.

I live in Canberra & it’s been banned to have any outdoor cats that were born after a certain date. They aren’t going to do anything about the cats that are already trained to go in & out but you can’t have an outdoor cat if you’re starting with a kitten. They don’t have to ban adult cats from going outside, they just have to wait for them to pass in 2-3 years. Unfortunately the life expectancy of outdoor cats is usually that short. Having said that our indoor/outdoor cat died last year at 17 years old. Good luck out there cats 🐈 🤞🏻❤️🫡
