Ryan, congratulations on being a father! Cars are great but children are greater! My daughter refers to my granddaughter as having crazy hair also and I thought she was the only parent that did that. You said leave comments about the color and vinyl top. Black on black, on black was the old terminology we used when your Chevelle was built for black interior, black paint with a black vinyl top and they were beautiful! I was 17 years old when 70 Chevelles were new and I drove a 67 SS 396 Chevelle that was Bolero Red with Black interior when I was 17 and in High School. I worked and paid for $750 for it and it was near show room quality. Premium gas then was $0.299 a gallon. That’s right less than 30 cents a gallon and if I spent $5.00 at the pumps on gas it was bone dry or I accidentally ran it over and spilt some. Folks think “wow” that was cheap but I was a high school student working making $1.50 and hour where kids now days make 10 times as much but premium gas cost well more that 10 times what it did in 1970. Sorry, I didn’t mean to make this comment so long. Good luck on your build and I vote black X3!

Great project. Perhaps look into a TKX trans to avoid cutting up the trans tunnel to fit the T56.

I am doing an LS swap on my 71 Camaro. It's only taken me 21 years so far. Unfortunately 20 of those years were spent doing nothing but buying parts while the car just sat in the garage in a million pieces. My goal is to be driving it this summer

Congrats on the new family member! As far as the Malibu, I'd lose the vinyl top and paint it a color other than black. There are so many black hot rods and so many cool colors you could paint that. Be different!

Thanks Steve! The Z28 is in storage now but I have a few minor things I want to do to it that will be filmed when it warms up (electric fan, some exhaust adjustments, reverse light re-wire since I put in the tremec 5 speed). I’m driving it to it’s first major car show at goodguys in Columbus this July!
