I had a dream that I had a baby named Jupiter and my 4 year old daughter had the same dream on the same night. We spent all summer watching Jupiter move around the sky and then I ended up unexpectedly pregnant. This is my fifth child and Jupiter is the 5th planet so I decided that this baby will be named Jupiter. Recently I've found that Jupiter is in my 12th house. I feel like the universe is trying to tell me something.

It is quite interesting that the ancients labeled Jupiter as the great benefic. We know by modern Astronomy that without Jupiter, our Earth would not be able to be as Safe as it is now. Because of Jupiters proximity and it's massive gravity pull it is able to deflect a lot asteroids and comets from Earth's path. Modern Astronomers are searching for Star systems with a Jupiter like Planet to look for another life-harboring planet.

I would love to find a way... to integrate the science (or principles) of epigenetics -- and 'free will' involved in it -- with what is mapped out in astrology. If I could do that (and I suppose that meditation/yoga may help) then I think I will get closer to understanding how the spirit comes down into the body and how 'destiny' may be worked out via the body/gravitational field and maybe... be malleable (which is what epigenetics suggests). I have a hard time believing that these sciences are mutually exclusive. I believe alll things are somehow connected. If epigenetics is true, then, as Brice Lipton says, the soul is merely a "frequency"..."out there" that comes into the body through cell receptors (i.e. consciousness/ability to receive them) and maybe this includes... karma (?). I am just at the tip of an iceberg here, but it does now make me feel that... the body is just 'housing' us or our 'frequency'...that has come back in to elevate itself. But we still, in this life, have to make choices (which means... deal with our Mercury/Saturn)...and this will alter our frequency/ies, won't it? We are constantly struggling with/to refine...our 'frequency'/soul/karma, aren't we? I mean this suggests to me that the natal chart is still subject to some sort of existential reality (choices...constantly being a combination of outer forces encountering our astrological DNA -- abilities/limits/chart aspects?)... so this means 'destiny' is malleable...sort of. I'm not sure if Vedic astrology is really largely 'fated' or if some free will is still involved. What do you think?

Hi ! so I'm a tad shaken now.. my ascendant Lord Jupiter is on my 8th cusp/9th house in an old state thirsted by both mercury and venus in the sign of Scorpio. Merc and Ven are both in a drowsy state. I'm not sure, have you had an astrological reading by anyone? Im not sure either because astrologers often say a planet is weakened in dustanas.. but then they are exalted surely they have some strength.. the strength of Jupiter being partially dependent on the strength of the moon which of course is dependent on venus and so on.. then there are aspects to look at.. and so on. I was thinking of my daughter's chart Also Danus ascendent.. her sun is in the 9th.. moon in the 8th..Saturn in the 3rd.. mercury in the tenth.. venus in the 11th.. you'd think wow this looks good.. but then i realized that although Saturn and Sun are in own sign.. they are actually opposing each other. Its very hard to see all the patterns and nuances of one's own chart. Its also not easy to stop referring what you are learning back to your own chart.. we are too subjective to see and anyone but an experienced astrologer will also have a limited view.

realincy That question is about 1800 years old. Having had many conversations with many astrologers, the best answer I can give is...you have to determine for your self which one makes the most sense to you. I say this, because its easy to argue both sides of the issue, and ultimately most people side with the one they are most comfortable with anyway.

Hi Ryan, I've just had a huge realisation watching this, so thank you! My question is: if the chart is a snapshot of the planetary positions of the exact time of your birth with a "bad" or challenging Jupiter (or any planet for that matter), how can you tell/know if the person hasn't changed since then? If they are 30-40 or however old they are? or have developed those qualities (willpower/initiative for Mars, faith for Jupiter ...etc) since their birth, especially if they are on a spiritual journey and do their inner work? I assume through contemplation..?....or can you tell otherwise? Is there a "progressive" chart or something of that nature? Thank you!

I've got Saturn in Aries, and it doesn't get any better per my d60. So since it won't improve, i give it . No shame in getting help if you help others in return, and i try to do a few things well rather than 10 things badly. Hm, I have Jupiter in the first house with Cancer Ascendant, which I've been told is a beneficial thing. I've been in Jupiter Jupiter dasha since last year and I've been experiencing lots of depression and financial hardship --- - that doesn't seem very Jupiter like : /

In Lakech There are probably other reasons. We can't simply say one planet is in one position and therefore this will happen. There are 9 planets, 12 signs, positions from 12 house cusps, 16 vargas and sometimes many dashas.

Ryan Kurczak Thanks for the reply, yes, I get there is a lot more to consider. I feel disappointed though because I've had several astrologers tell me that this dasa would be a spiritually and materially prosperous time for me, but it's proving to be very difficult. Perhaps the difficulty will lead me to something greater. I'm on your waiting list for a reading but I'm not even 100% sure of my birth date. At this point I'm feeling inspired to study vedic astrology to understand things to a greater degree and perhaps come to the conclusion which date of birth is really mine. I had someone do a rectification and then had a reading from another astrologer following that. The person that read my chart said the rectification was incorrect and read me for the one I had previously known to be mine. I wish that I could rely on astrology for support right now but until I learn more myself, I feel it could be a waste of time and $ for someone else to figure things out.

If you happen to catch this. The older I get the more my hearing is going.... Cancer ascendant ( tropical) Jupiter in Pisces 9H aspecting the ascendant and 10H. Loads of faith in my heart, even in the midst of difficulties. Absolutely love animals. Need to learn more about Astrology, but I don’t do well studying on my own.
