I bought one of these to use as a backup phone while my oneplus 12 was being repaired and its still fucking incredible. Especially since I got mine for 200 USD open box in pretty much new condition, with the original box and accessories. It's ridiculous how modern this phone still feels. I installed crDroid 14 with microG on it and it was a joy to use for the few weeks where it was my main device. It was still plenty fast enough for daily use (also helped by the fact it's the 12gb RAM version, still flagship ram quantity), the display was incredible of course, and the battery life was insane on crDroid, almost on par with my 12. The cameras were probably what made me miss my 12 the most, but they were still pretty serviceable with gCam. I should also mention the exterior design of the phone is simply beautiful. The 12 in green gets close but still can't match it IMO. Really makes me wish I had one of these back when it was new in 2019, it would've blown my fucking mind coming from my dinky iPhone 8 I had at the time with its tiny 720p LCD and huge bezels

Mainly for the improved camera specs. It got passed onto another family member though, he used it for a couple of years. Then they passed it down and it's still being used now. I got a used OnePlus 7 Pro in 2022 and only recently replaced it since the selfie camera stopped working but this is honestly one of it not my favourite phone I've ever used. The fact that notchless displays haven't become a mainstay in smartphones today still baffles me, especially since I've always kind of hated notches and holepunches (although I have gotten used to the one on my Pixel 7). The pop-up selfie camera was also genius and also made for a pretty cool party trick. I still remember my younger cousins and my friends being blown away when showing it to them for the first time. OxygenOS was also really cool too, especially since it offered a level of customisability I'd only really seen on the Pixel Launcher before Android 12. The only real issue I had with it was the lack of a headphone jack but besides that, this phone was basically perfect.

The screen burn in was also something OnePlus had an issue since the 7 series. I and my friend were also very gentle with our phones but till the 9 Pro we both managed to burn in the display somehow. This was horrible since under normal use it shouldn't happen. I was like horrified when I experienced this and something like this only happend on all of my samsung devices when I passed out from being drunk and leave some app open like KZbin or Spotify.. But on OnePlus.. it just happened over and over again and that's why I switched back to Samsung. Even my Huawei P30 Pro didn't had issues when I played PSP emulator and the buttons were quite bright.

My favourite smartphone of all time. My one friend still using it as it's main phone and my OnePlus 7 is still working fine

I got it for my father this year in January, and he loves it. Although he isn't able to deal with the curved edges, he's planning to get a used iPhone 15 due to his unwillingness to spend the full amount on a new one. I wish they resurrected that design instead of the generic-looking 13, which even did away with that patterned green color.

I really, really loved my 7 Pro. It was always easy to make conversation with it, it was a fun a fun phone. But the screen burn in after extended use was less than ideal. If I still had it I'd probably use it but you get the point.

My friend has one which he treats like a workhorse. He's got like 100 apps on it, one of the buttons fell off, which he replaced with a DIY piece of wood lol. Still kicking though.

Wow, you're basically covering the phones I had. I had bith an LG v35 Thinq (stupis name) AND a Oneplus 7t pro Mclaren. I suppose it could be that there is a large overlap between these niche and the tool phone crowd. The 7t pro is still my favorite phone of all time. The screen is crazy and I still prefer it to my s24 Ultra.

Wireless charging is the only feature that i never felt like i need to use it! My elder brother who is an expert in this matter told me wireless charging shortens battery health faster than charging via cable and over heats more! I'm pretty sure in the global south people don't use this feature!

I had to replace my OP7 Pro this year because after last year's software update it became a nightmare to use. During my 4 years of usage it became obvious that each big Android update from OnePlus was adding bloat and removed features I actually used. On top of that the usb port was always disconnecting when trying to connect it to my pc and sometimes during charging I had to press the cable at a certain angle which meant that installing custom roms over my pc was not happening. That being said I really liked it while it was on Android 9.

The 6T and 7 Pro especially were peak OnePlus phones to me and probably the most fun I've had using a bar type smartphone. It's a shame that the pop up selfie camera feature never made past that time period though as despite the 'risk' of having a motor, it was still a genuine improvement over your typical notch cutout. Also, afaik the OnePlus 7 Pro technically did have an IP rating but it depends on where you got the phone. The international unlocked models had the seals for a proper IP67 water resistance rating even on the moving selfie camera but just never did the third party certification when testing but the T-Mobile variants apparently did have the IP rating.

I still have and use mine from time to time, the Nebula Blue color. This is one phone i can't part ways with, so far ahead of its time.
This thing *demolished* the competition.
