If you find an opening under your van to bring up cool air then even putting up a quiet computer fan against the roof fan (but not turning on the fantastic fan) will totally evacuate the hot air and be quieter and more stealth. The air under your van is typically much cooler than the roof air. A small exhaust fan like they use for a composting toilet can draw up enough air. I’ve seen folks rig up something from the rear lights, behind the license plate and behind a rear mounted tire. Perhaps even around an undermounted spare tire.

Been living in my car for about 2 months, really looking forward to having my own van build eventually. I keep thinking thought, what's the problem with people knowing you live in your van or that you're currently in your van? It'll probably reduce the risk of thieves lol, I mean I wouldn't go tell people I live in a van, but people thinking badly of me for living in my car/van are not worth my time, it's like a radar for shitty people lol, it helps me see more clearly what others are like. Anyways don't be ashamed of living in your van, I'm sure it comes with many benefits which are even worth mentioning to your future boss, like for example I'm saving money for mortgage, although i might just get a nice apartment sized camper eventually, quite enjoy the fact that I'm not tied to one place and had the opportunity to travel to different cities and work there which I think is pretty exciting.

Why don't you go in through the driver door every time you enter? Put your groceries over on passenger seat, and then slip through and grab them. Maybe I'm misunderstanding though, I guess if it's not illegal to live and sleep in that space it doesn't matter. I just figured you'd want to reduce any risk of anyone knowing that there is expensive stuff in there. Man I would not be cut out for this...... seems like pieces of food would just fly into places you can't get to. And then when it gets 100 degrees in the van it would just smell so bad you would literally have to remove like a cabinet or something to get to it. How do you keep that from happening?

Uh, you don't need to "stealth" camp in Seattle (or Portland, LA, SF) because there are hundreds of RVs camped out permanently throughout the city. Literally nothing bad will happen. You won't get moved, ticketed, or anything. Hell, "activists" here will probably drop by to give you free food, money and needles. Maybe some narcan too. Biggest danger is having someone steal your catalytic converter, so hopefully you have a guard installed to decrease the risk. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
