Hi just found your channel LOVE IT you are so me. Im 76 and enjoy my van life so much only I like to people watch. I cant walk long distances but to lessen the strain of whatever distance i walk with packages I have a rolling grocery bag that is a god send. Plus I have a couple of finger saving bags that have wide handles incase There is a overflow. In areas where you are a person can drive to the other shops just to get out of the heat. For people that keep asking you about mopping your floor in YOUR OWN van need to know you will mop it when you get ready. Im interested in your content which is one of the best you are real and show van life as it really is. At the end of the day I always have a couple of spots picked out to settle for the night. Recently we had 4 days of constant rain and I did fine my food is always plentyful and I eat according to the situation when sun isnt out to re charge. I put less strain on my power sources and use only what I have to. I can quickly cook something I always have lots of propane. I love being stealth it gives me so many more options. People need to know that every day is not scenic adventure. And most people pee and poop in their vans wake up and smell thee coffee people. Keep doing what you are doing showing both sides. Im not tech saavy if I was I could have shown some real life adventures Some years ago I was caught in a 4 day heavy snowstorm. I keep up with weather so I was able to prepare i went to a second level of a hospital parking lot found a perfect place and hunkered in if I had needed to go in I was at a place that wouldnt have refused me and I made it through. The staff dug out the driveway and even blew the snow off cars. People couldnt get home so the didnt know that not one of those people. I learned to not cook anything that smelled good until the smells were in the air from the hospital cafeteria. Be Blessed in your travels and keep the content coming you are so real and refreshing.

Great episode, really enjoy the mundane episodes as much as the "OMG I stealth camped in my van in ______ neighborhood!" ones. Only suggestion, which applies to almost all YT vlogging videos, is to try to keep the music volume lower in relation to the voice volume, as most people turn up the volume to hear what you're talking about but then get blasted when the music starts. It probably adds more work to adjust the volumes but would make your videos even better. Thanks for sharing your vanlife as always.

Stay healthy and safe always. The question that always pops up for me is, how do you keep yourself protected while on the road? Staying alert, conceal carry etc.
@dextermorgan40932 жыл бұрын
Agreed but you gotta be careful about the states you visit. You are pretty much cool in Red states carrying in your vehicle, but blue states you gotta be careful. I guess the whole “it’s better to be judged by twelve than carried by six” comes into play. Go to Utah, easy to get a non resident conceal permit. It works in many states, even some blue. Personally I stay out of blue states if possible. Most are shit holes anyways. But in the end, the chances of a cop searching your van is slim, it’s just if you have to use it.

You’re using the a/c unit incorrectly. I have the same one. You need to place the two hoses in the back (add the one you took off) and place them toward the outside. The way you have it you’re creating an imbalance of air (only exhausting or only Intaking air) which makes the difference machine work harder to cool less. Air flow is key. Add the second hose and vent both to the outside and you’ll see the flow of air improve and the temperature in the van cooler. I have the same one so trust me it worked for me. Also let the hot air out before trying to cool.

It is fascinating to listen to you what you are thinking and doing, please don't change. As to where you poop, it is interesting to see how the restrooms are maintained and what facilities you have to choose from. I prefer being barefooted or wearing sandals of some sort myself, I even wear shorts year round but here in AZ, our winters are so mild, I don't have to worry about two different wardrobes. So carry on doing what you are doing, it is your life and if you are happy with the way it is going, by all means continue! Take care and stay safe! P.S. My main concern for you is your safety and though you seem to take great strides to stay safe, there is always that chance something could go wrong, but that could happen to anyone so enjoy what you are doing and just stay vigilant!

Keeping cool is tough. Warming things up is easier. I follow the weather so it is never too cold or hot where I park. Sometimes I have shore power but when I am free standing I use a small generator on a separate circuit to the rest of my 110. The batteries and solar handle everything real well but that ac is too much. It works out real well. I am out here for a nice life not to be miserable. So keeping warm and cool is a must. Same with internet.

Living in a vehicle sucks no matter how great the rig is. It's not a dream. Props for being real here 👍. If your rig needs mechanical repairs, needs repairs from being wrecked or is totaled in an accident. Where do you go? That was my biggest worry when I did it, second to that was going to the bathroom and finding a place to park at night. I have a whole list of why it sucks, yes extreme heat and cold wears on you too. I used to soak paper towels in water to wet my hair then soak a few in shampoo to wash my hair then soak more in water to get the shampoo out if my hair, same with sponge baths (it's very quick and sanitary) using any kind of a cloth is just nasty, and it helped me avoid using a bucket and water bottle to wash my hair and body daily and having to dispose of a gallon or two of dirty water. Then I would shower at a gym once a week.

They're hell on your system and make you put on weight. Just don't do it. Drink water with fresh lemon it's way better for you. Start the day with lemon in water it flushes your system out is refreshing and makes your system less acidic. Why not cover yourself with a wet cloth when sleeping? A simple fan on this is almost as good as air con. Dark paint finish on the outside of the van conducts heat. White is optimal for reflecting heat. JIMO useful to consider when buying a van.
