Phenomenal video. We need to a competition section where you play certain shots against these quality players. Or recreate iconic short game shots and talk through how they would have approached the shots.

Mr. Grieve, You are quickly becoming one of my favorite artists to watch. My overall short game isn’t terrible but my process and understanding of lie, landing, then roll out was inconsistent. I so often let the wedge determine my shot, which I’ve learned now is very backwards.

Medinah was a great moment, and I love hearing the stories, but Ian Poulter is so much more than that one great moment. He is an absolute legend and one of the UK's best ever, along with Lee Westwood. Thanks for sharing.

A great example of someone who comes across as a light hearted player, but who has complete durability of gameplan. Whatever I think about LIV, this guy is the right player for that tour, and his game has excited me and many others, and it's so good to see the absolute absence of BS. Thanks, both.

Ian is great. He really doesn't get the credit he deserves for what he's done for the game. To some people he is marmite and I just don't get it. He is so open on all his videos on KZbin and gives back so much. This is a fantastic insight into short game golf. Thank you.

Great video, as always, but Dan if I’ve got one request/criticism - please stop finishing your guests’ sentences. What’s the point of having these fantastic players on for us to hear their unique perspectives and experiences, if you’re not going to let them finish explaining/describing them in their own words? 🙏 Aside from that, thank you Dan for all the amazing and informative content and for introducing us to all the great players you have on 👍

I conducted a small experiment recently where I putted a ball from off the green and it ended up about 3ft from the hole, none of my playing partners said anything about the shot. Had a similar shot off the green a bit later, still putt-able and I would usually 100% putt it. I decided to hit a wedge on purpose and ended at about 8 ft. Partners: "great shot!". This and coupled with Dan's teaching has opened my mind completely about short game to where there is also a big element of "image" that you need to overcome to become a great short game player, and if you look at shots objectively you will cut a few shots of your card. I bought your book last night Dan, you deserve the support.

Texas wedge is great. Putting is ultimately so much easier than chipping.

Awesome video Dan - little tip - crossfade your audio track cuts and you’ll avoid those audible “pops” every time the camera switches to b-roll angles. Or better yet, just cut the video track and leave the audio alone if it’s a continuous shot. Great work!!

Dan, your comment in relation to tour greens is so true... I once played in a Pro Am for a tour event and whilst I'd played chamionship courses before and what I thought were quick greens... Until I actually played on them, I really had no concept of just how much firmer and faster they were... The tour pros were hitting chip shots so much firmer with so much spin, it was the most impressive part of the experience.
@wiremu98762 ай бұрын
Loved the whole lesson and I've downloaded it since. Everytime I go out on the course I'm taking the shots from 110m in to finishing 5-6 lob wedge locked in left shoulder and arm chip 3-4m from the green to a pin (imaginary)that's 10-12m away or 5-6m away and reviewing what I have downloaded on my iphone. It's like having Dan and Ian with me to get feedback. Love it. He's a wizard is ol Poultzee.

Nice to see shots like that. I've been trying to beat the shank in my short game for a few weeks. I always manage to produce a shank like that. But only in my short game, which ruins my whole golf. I'm not sure what the swing path should be in my short game. Should the club go straight back and close at the end, or should it come in to the right and end in the backswing on the left? Sorry, I'm working with a translator
