Oh, father time That meter maid who lends one lively winking eye We dance a borrowed jig while hiding from the fine Oh, what I wouldn't spend to lend you mine Nobody knows where they are going Oh, how we try to wrap our minds Over the edge of all our knowings Be it a bang of the divine Tip of my iceberg, blues are showing I've never been on for goodbyes So, till I meet you there, I'm singing A traveling song to ease the ride and so you know Everywhere I roam I'll see you on the road Oh, I take it in vain All the plans and moves that we made Half a heart is aching to grow Soulmates aren't just lovers, you know I know, I know your eyes are the rain Just a soul that's changing its shape I'll be laughing all of the way Thinking 'bout the days Oh, nobody knows where they are going Oh, how we try to wrap our minds Over the edge of all our knowings Be it a bang of the divine Tip of my iceberg, blues are showing I've never been on for goodbyes So, till I meet you there, I'm singing A traveling song to ease the ride and so you know Everywhere I roam I'll see you on the road So, farewell to my friend He who taught me to love like a beast And to feast like the queen that he fed turtle soup Little boy from Paris to the states, check the facts That was Magical Max He was black sheep and mischief and love for his craft And he told me that I was Apollo 13 on that very last day He said shoot for your dreams, little girl To the stars, well, I'm taking you with me now This one is ours And I know what you'd say, you'd say, on with the show So on we go

It’s hard to realize that the people that have been in ur life one day have to leave. l have been realizing that with some of my family, and it’s just so tough to think about what’s going to happen when they pass.

@@All-ze9cl A few months after writing this comment I actually did loose him. When it happened I had a feeling of peace that could have only been from God, because Lord knows I couldn't get through that on my own lol. But he also he had stage 4 cancer so I was happy that he wasn't in pain anymore. I still get sad sometimes and you don't really get over it, it just becomes a new normal. I hope you can have peace whenever you do go through something like that but I hope that you won't have to face these issues anytime soon.

The message in this song and that honest tone that you deliver, it's just so indescribable to me and many others. You're one out of the few who can actually connect listeners to a song and make them feel what you feel. Thank you for your stellar album and showing us your countless adventures through every song and what it's like to fall in love, get hurt, lose someone/yourself, and finally rediscovering ourselves once again. You, Ryn, are a true artist.

Its so rare nowadays to find a young musician that sings and writes from the heart. Real music makes you feel something in your very core. This song is one of those for me, so I can only imagine what this tribute means to Ryn. So beautiful.

This song makes me cry uncontrollably. I haven't gone through losing someone so close to me but this song and video do such a good job at making you feel nostalgic. This definitely gives me the feels, reminds me so much of my grandpa and how big of a role he played in my life that I didn't fully realize till he was gone. The important message to receive in this is as your life goes on you don't see how fast your family and yourself is aging, hold them close and make time for them. These videos are wonderful but they aren't exactly memories, they are simply clips of time in your life, the real memories to hold onto are those times without pictures or videos, those are the moments you hold in your heart and mind when you think of those who pass like this, so be sure make plenty of them. XX

When I heard this song for the first time years ago, I absolutely loved it. Within the past year, I lost two dear uncles only 4 months apart (both my mother's older brothers, both in their early 60s, both to cancer). My grandfather (their father) wasn't in their lives, so my uncles were important male figures for our family. Losing them has been painful, but this song has been comforting to me.
