You my friend explained this review to the T. Very well spoken and detailed explanations and most of all, COMMON SENSE!!😂🤦🏽♂️ Especially the budget parts. I’m exactly in the same mentality as yourself. Woodworker hobbyist. I work mostly with palletwood/reclaimed wood to make smal furniture items/paneling. I’ve just purchased this saw and I’ll say easily that I’m hugely impressed by the quality of this saw. Ryobi is really stepping up in the power tool game. Anyone that does simple woodworking or just for home use, this saw is PERFECT for you. So much people like us purchase a saw that’s a couple hundred bucks more just to say they got the name brand🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ Why? This saw does just a good a job as the makitas, dewalts, hitachis, etc. The others might last longer but if you’re not using it for a career/trade then you’re wasting your money. Buy this saw. You won’t be disappointed. Trust me.....🙏🏼🤙🏼👍🏼

Thank you very much for your comment! I do feel the same way about quite a few tools in this regard and if its cord powered im not 100% for only one brand. Each brand makes good products but some have better options and price points that im all for. I think only my drills and cordless tools with stay the same brand but thats mainly because buying dang batteries of different brands costs way too much!

Hey - great review. A note on the cutline LED laser: they stopped making it a "laser" and now it's an LED light. They essentially say this in the manual: "Use the shadow generated by the LED light from the blade to assume that is where the plate will cut". It's a little disappointing, but time will tell if the light outweighs having a precise laser line.

Fantastic review. Extremely thorough and well articulated. Currently in the market for my first miter saw and this is on sale at Home Depot. Grew up around and using Dewalt, Makita, Bosch, etc. and wasn't sure if Ryobi's price was too good to be true. @langhamp89124 жыл бұрын
I actually bought this saw at Home Depot after watching this video, thinking "15 amps, nah it'll be ok on a 15 amp rail". It turns out that with an extension cord it's doable but flip the shop vac on and the circuit breaker trips. I returned the saw after explaining to HD what happened, and they nicely took it back, but it's a much better and cheaper saw than my cordless Craftsman 8 incher.

What about a smaller paw print in Ryobi miter saw like the TS1346? What does compound miter saw mean? I was cutting notty pine and the intake port clogged up pretty quick. Sure cuts and brake real quick. No Lazer but the job lights exposes a dark line on their. I also have a Craftsman radial arm saw built in 1989. Just needs a few more alignment issues and I'll maybe finish one soon?
@DoubleBitsWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
You could go with that model. The best model of saw is always the one that fits your needs. :-) and the radial arms saws in that year range are pretty good! Sadly radial arm saws get a bad rap. Nothing against them! Just didn't have the space for the two I had in this shop, so I had to sell them

Good job thank you liked all the details information about the 2-year review. Wanted to ask how do you clean out the the rails for the miter saw with air compressor or you have to use special oil.
@DoubleBitsWorkshop Жыл бұрын
You can remove the panel in the middle of the saw where the rails slide at. And there will be a felt piece and exposed bearing you can blow it out then use wax or a mild grease. But grease can attract saw dust pretty quickly so a dry lube works best

@petercsurkay66703 жыл бұрын
Good FYI, How do u clean the sliders or lubed them besides compressor cleanout?
@DoubleBitsWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Denatured alcohol wipe down of all contacting surfaces. And use a rub on wax to help with glide. There are quite a few wax glide products out there to help with planers, drawer slides, jointers, basically anything that may work better with being lubed, but with wax it wont attract saw dust or grime nearly as bad if at all!

Would you suggest this mounted on a rolling g cart?
@DoubleBitsWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
Well.. yes and no? Depending on if you are going with just locking wheels then no. I would say only if you spring for the more worth while wheels that either fold away when not in use, or the ones with a separate raiser that lifts the wheels off the ground. if you only get wheels that lock the wheel can still rotate in place without spinning, and they will throw off your cut.

It's trash. The fence warps like crazy. That's why the cuts go bad. And it's not even fixable unless you sit there for days calculating shims because it twists every way possible. My sliders are brand new and the slide cuts are so far off that it's criminal. Don't buy this tool. I just tossed mine at the floor after 5 months of barely getting by with it. It's propagated more suicidal thoughts than anything else I've experienced. It's total trash and Ryobi should have fixed these issues by now
@DoubleBitsWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
I sadly have been hearing that a "newer" change has been made to the floor models in some areas, and there have been some "money saving" changes Ryobi has done to these saws. Including no longer having a laser for the cuts but instead a light.

Great review, but...That isn't a chop saw. A chop saw is its own category of saw that is characterized by what it does, not how it generally looks. Proper chop saws don't miter or bevel, and are generally used to make straight 90 deg cuts in metal. For this reason, chop saws are usually equipped with abrasive disks and not blades. Great review with lots of good info, but that drove me a little crazy.
@DoubleBitsWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the break down. Not everyone is aware of the difference between a chop saw and miter saw (though I am). The title and use of the term "chop saw" has been used to reach a wider audience that may be searching the term "chop saw" as it has become a general term for most miter saws. I also just have a habit of calling it a chop saw even though it technically isn't haha

@@DoubleBitsWorkshop Fair enough! I almost picked one of these up yesterday, but I learned the miter angle doesn't open up wide enough for my next project.
