You can tilt the head by turning the lower shaft 90 degrees in the tube.

It was a lot easier for me when I got a attachment that came with a strap. The strap made it so much better.

I got one of these (the newer brushless model for less heat) and she does find it heavy. Ended up getting an aftermarket shoulder strap and it is much nicer to use.

You can put the attachment in sideways to edge sidewalk.

The cheaper 18v model was adjustable and did tilt for an edge. Its odd the more expensive model wouldnt

I wish the ryobi had the same extension capabilities as the Makita, like 1 click shorter or 1 click longer.. the ryobi clicks to lock not to extend or shorten.. so its fixed, the royobi looks like your sweeping for mines in Iraq

The 18v might still be adjustable but when 40v is an option hard to not grab it

Would be nice to know which model this is. Judging from the way the battery is inserted (and the recommendation for 0.080" [vs 0.095"] line), it's NOT one of the more recent versions.
