RYOBI 9" Band Saw, New to Shop Test and Try.

How does it handle steel?

Nice job. How tight should the. blade be? And, should the blade. be. adjusted tighter or looser for different thicknesses or different hardness in the wood being cut? Thanks.

Hi Zane. I don't have a definite answer for that, I do tension by feel. I give the blade enough wiggle room moving it with my fingers so it's not so tight it will pop, then I test cut and see if I can turn while cutting so the blade moves enough to follow my lines. For harder wood I have had to tighten the blade up because I could see the blade twisting to much. Really it's a feel for me. Also I have not used other sized blade on this machine, but on other band saws that I changed the blades on it seams to change on how much tension I like with each blade. Oh I'm sorry to hear its drifting the blade, I have gotten couple months of use out of mine and it has been awesome. You may want to return that one my friend.
