RYOBI Expand-It 12 in. Snow Thrower Attachment RYSNW00 (Gas vs Battery)

My personal experience using the Ryobi snow thrower attachment with both the 2 stroke and 40V power heads. The battery was nowhere close to "gas like" power but still has its place for times when noise is unacceptable.

Been meaning to stop by for a while now and post a comment. I have been using the Ryobi gas head unit but I had purchased the bristle brush attachment for snow cleaning from a different brand. The reason I got the bristle brush was because I didn’t even know Ryobi had one as an Attachment. Back in January i had seen this video and quickly went to Home Depot and purchased one. In this video you answered every question I had and some questions I wasn’t even thinking of. It worked very good on my drive way, sidewalks, and stairs. Just a small tip since you can’t control the direction of the snow. What i usually did was i do half sets, like 6-7” and I turn the unit towards the side I want the snow to go. As I have it tilted a bit I start to go forward while tilting the unit. So far that’s what I do and it’s working pretty good **** I Just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this video and letting me know that this attachment was available. Also for answering all the questions I had and the ones I didn’t think of. Keep up the good job posting your educational videos. It may help someone like it did with me. Take care and god bless.

If you don't mind can you share where you got the bristle brush attachment please? It is compatible with the "expand it" line?

@@Pro1er craftsman, cub cadet, Troy built, Yard Machine, John Deere, McCulloch, MTD Pro, Poulan, Poulan Pro, Toro, Yard man, weed eater, those are the attachments that work with Ryobi hedge string trimmer. Hope it answered your question.

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

Very helpful. We have heavy snow days but I go out multiple times to clear it so it’s not overwhelming. I also don’t have a large lot so I’m going to try it out. Thank you!

Thank you for the great review of the Ryobi snow thrower. I just purchased it last week to go with my new Ryobi 4 stroke gas power head. I live in the Midwest US, so we get different types and levels of snow throughout the winter months. I have a big gas snowblower, but the Ryobi attachment will be good compromise in between for the snow that is light enough to shovel by hand and the snow that is deep enough to drag out the big gas snow blower.

I got one of the ryobi RYSNWOO using it with my Kobalt KST 140XB-06 80 volt attachment capable string trimmer So far it had not skipped a beat clearing snow off the walkways as the 80 volt has more power as it will work on Greenworks and Masterforce powerheads So far I had no issues with the attachment As i mainly use the MTD tirmmer plus attachments as they didn't offer a snowthrower attachment this is what i had to get. there is a similar one like this branded HART. but sold at Walmart its identical to the Ryobi snow thrower attachment. the next attachment from Ryobi i need that Trimmer plus don't have is the power sweeper attachment.

Where you using the battery version? If so, yes mine cut out all the time in anything more than 3 or 4 inches of snow.

With my Kobolt 40 volt power shovel, it's very quiet, I often think it's not running until i see it shooting the snow 30 feet away.

You do realize that all these Ryobi attachments all fit the Dewalt string grass grass trimmer. He’ll probably get better results since it being a 60 V.
