I compared a new Ryobi LED to my old Zenon and the LED has no distance and the Zenon is white light instead of Green/Blue/Yellowish color as the LED gives out. The BIG drawback is the Zenon facial glass does get hot after long term usage. What version "Zenon" are you using ?

This is a great video but the test between which is brighter wasn’t fair to the xenon since it takes time for the bulb to warm up and reach its full potential

Fair point, but not everybody wants to sit around and wait for their flashlight to warm up.

Say I have infinite batteries, how long will the LED spotlight stays on until it overheats or starts dimming? Anyone put this to the test yet?

My workshop incandescent lights broke so I took it apart and got the wire part out and wired it to an led flood light so now 1800 lumen ryobi light

Yeah ita fine, I filmed this when it was about 30 degrees out. Actually the zenon takes a second to warm up before it gets bright, were the led is just boom full brightness instantly. Thanks for watching

I took the same incandescent light ( Ryobi P704) and put a 3w, 18v LED bulb in it, that I got from ebay. HUGE difference! I'm going to get a 5w bulb, and trying that next.

Anybody else have problems with the Ryobi 1 chargers? I've had 3 of them go out, so that has really turned me off of Ryobi products.

You're not really letting the xenon bulb warm up before comparing them side-by-side. It can take up to 60 seconds for the xenon to achieve full brightness. LED will be instant.

The problem I had with the Xenon was that the light strobed when the battery dropped voltage This was tough when I had set up the light to allow me to walk out and take photos at the end a a long narrow plank set out over freezing cold water at night Walking back down the plank carrying some $7,000 worth of camera gear over deep cold water and into a rapidly strobing bright light did not impress me at all I have bought the LED as a replacement !

Vague specs on Ryobi site. I would guess there are XML2 or XPG led's. Not a bad light but I think it could have been better and had twice the throw with a single XHP35_HI and large deep reflector. I mean I have multiple flashlights near the same price point that equal the Ryobi and are much more portable. My favorite is my O-light R-20 which only weighs 3oz, fits in my pocket, operates with a single 18650 and recharges with a micro usb phone charger. AND! Even though the specs are lower and it will have a lot less light/lumens overall with a single led I would wager light for light it will shine out to that 175 yard tree as well if not better than the ryobi

Making Stuff and Breaking Stuff with Al it may just be on video that it looks dark at 170 I’d say 250 may be useable . I hate how all the lights say huge distances yet they are useless at the distance . The led is good though .
