So I'm building a shed in my back yard. I kept stripping screws because I had cheapo Ryobi bits (and I have a bad habit of not keeping it perfectly straight) so I bought these Ryobi diamond bits because of this video. At first it was a GAME CHANGER... And then after 20-30 screws the coating wears off. Then I think they were just as bad (if not worse) than regular cheap Ryobi bits. So if you're on a budget and using a drill or lightly impacted they really are awesome. Just know that once the "diamond grip" comes off, game over folks.

This is the real info no gimmicks. I watched a video by project farm about all these bits and they put them through rigorous testing and the Milwaukee shockwave bits showed almost no damage at the end. They were the clear winner. And that's what matters, how long they last without getting rounded and chipped, not if they can stick to a screw when they're brand new!

Phillips were originally designed to cam out to limit the torque. It’s a feature not a bug. If you need more torque, use a different pattern.
@david3551Ай бұрын
Cam out was never a built in feature or design. It was discovered after the fact as an added bonus. It was however designed to be self-centering like a Robertson.
@Icantball672 жыл бұрын
Also something else to consider is the orientation of the first screw vs the second and third. Assuming their just Phillips head screws and not a Phillip Robertson combo. Does it matter if the star looks like an “x” or a “+”

Yo Vince. Long time/first time. I have never been in a situation where I have had to stop working in the middle of driving a screw and leave my driver hanging. That being said, is the fit of these bits that much better, or is it just a coating that will wear off over time?

Also I’ve found and I imagine I’m not alone, manufacturer bits are made shaped for screws every so slightly different and the same goes for the impressions in screws. Resulting in different brand bits that work better or worse depending on the brand of screw that you use.

Love the video, but I need to mention that the test you did and the Ryobi test is not exactly the same. At first there was a lot of jerking motion in your twisting device.
