I bought one of these Ryobi Trimmers from Home Depot a little over a year ago and want to share my experience. You can find it here: www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-ONE-... . I absolutely am happy with it. I know you can get some extra power from the other trimmers but i didn't need it. I didn't care to spend the extra money and do not regret going the cheap route. This trimer came with one battery and one charger. They are good for doing light work around the house. If you want to use this thing for hours and hours you need to get more batteries. That is all. If you got a couple extra batteries you would be unstopable. Please subscribe for more tool stuff. Check out the channel fif you are bored. If you like the video there is a like button. Dislike it? Go ahead and spread the dislike with the button as well. I hope this helps you with the RYOBI Trimmer shopping.

Just picked mine up today this makes about 20 different tools in my collection now. I have had no issues with ryobi tools for the many years I have had them and I have had all the more expensive kinds being I'm a contractor. I started buying ryobi just to keep in my home shop and they work great. Thanks for the review hope mine works out I'm tired of messing with my gas trimmer.

I just bought the same one at Home Depot today. I literally only have like 5 minutes of weed wacking to do at my duplex, so I just went with this. First non gas one I've ever owned. Have to admit, I love it! No gas to mess with or mixing the gas is great!!

I’ve had the same model for 3 to 4 years now. I bought a couple of 40 volt batteries in addition to the 18 volt battery. I also bought a single charger that charges both the 18 and 40 volt batteries. I also bought the pre-spooled string which made life easier. I’ve only had to replace the spool cap cover this year, since I wore the other one out.

Bought it yesterday. 6 years later after your video it’s $89 now. My yard is quite large but it’s completely enough. A half charged battery lasted for a good 20 min. Love it. Recommend for everyone. Blower isn’t good. Returned it back. Barely 10 min of work.

Man for the price and durability is pretty darn good. I got mine with a blower for 100 bucks. Couldn't be happier. Only con is I'm almost 6 feet and it is a little bit short but nothing to complain about Im only using it on my yard witch I cut in an hour so trimming maybe 20 minutes is the best deal. Unless your doing lawn service and cutting many yards in one day its perfect.

Fun review 😄 I bought the 40v one because I wanted all the power, but after using it, I used my hubby’s stihl gas-powered, and the 40v wasn’t much lighter or less cumbersome... so I am taking it back and going for this little guy for edging and delicate work. I like the shorter length for more control.

This research will be tuff for you. All i can seem to find right away are amazon reviews. The last link below will be the closest to this ryobi at 4.5 lbs... I have owned black and decker tools in the past and they worked just fine for me. I built a shed with decking screws and nearly drove a black and decker drill into the ground... it did it though. Good luck! www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-LST420-Lithium-Performance/dp/B00HXCPC6K/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1529926612&sr=1-1&keywords=black+and+decker+edger www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-LCC222-Lithium-Trimmer/dp/B01BNMP5JY/ref=sr_1_7?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1529926805&sr=1-7&keywords=black+and+decker+edger www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-LST201-Lithium-Trimmer/dp/B011HX29H0/ref=sr_1_8?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1529926805&sr=1-8&keywords=black+and+decker+edger

LOl when I got a 4th 18v battery I also got the 6 battery charger from ryobi. I love it!! My only complaint is that you can't leave the batteries plugged into it when not charging. But I think the 1 6 battery charger takes up less room than 3 individual chargers do. I could be wrong :) But best investment for me I think :)

Thank you you saved me a lot of headache from eye strain or reading the instructions. Off subject, is that a Saturn Vue sitting there in your yard? I just bought one from the auction got it home and found out it had a rod knocking just curious is that what's wrong with yours? I cant believe you like that pos weed trimmer. I burned up three of those last season. It has about 3.5. Inch string before it hits the cutter. I removed the guard to try to get a wider cut but it didnt have the power to spin fast enough to cut grass. I only had the string out about 5 inches. Im glad you are happy with yours but if you get into any thick weeds watch for smoke. If and when it lights up pull your battery. My batteries were nearly 100. Each so i didnt want them frying. I like to see how far i can throw them. Let me know if you need the handles or motor case. Ive got a bunch of em. They dont sell replacement motors. Ibhad the 10 with aluminum tube handle and it fried as well. I pulled the motor from the total plastic pos and put it in the 10" it lasted 15 mins and was smoking.

Thanks for the review. I am still not clear how slowing down and throttling more will release more trim line. I believe if it does automatically then there is no need for that autofeed release-trigger sticker on the tool.
@TRYtoHELPyou
@TRYtoHELPyou Жыл бұрын
No prob. There is no auto feed trigger. It seems to be centrifugal. If the thing is spinning, the line is locked. From moving then coming to a stop, the centrifugal mechanism inside retracts and then scoots the line out a little bit. If you start the motor back up, it locks into place. When it comes to a stop again, it lets a little line out. Simply slowing down does not feed the line, it has to come to a complete stop. I hope this helps! I still have the trimmer and use it on a rare occasion (goes with my RV on camping trips)

Ryobi is made by a company call TTI. They are based out of Milwaukee . Hence also the same company that makes Milwaukee Tools and Rigid.... The Three brand differentiates based on the audience they target. Ryobi towards Homeowner and hobbyist, Milwaukee the step up tool towards Frequent repair homeowners who likes to work on their homes or handyman, contractors etc, then the RIGID - like its name - towards the professionals.

Well the little thing was perfect size for my 5'4" lady friend and the perfect weight too. Yes that "One plus" or whatever is quite a good sales trick as I had an older ryobi drill set that uses the same batteries. Didn't know I could even buy a stronger battery for the drills till we looked at Home Depot and saw all the options. The 1.3 ah that came with the trimmer won't last too long so bigger would be better. One additional "con" is it uses only one string. Most of the larger gas units (don't know about bigger battery units) have 2 strings hanging out of the reel for more cutting action.
@QSilver7
@QSilver7 4 жыл бұрын
If you are mainly cutting thick/tall grass and not edging a walk or driveway...or trimming along a fence or foundation (aka “hard surfaces)...you can buy the 2-in-1 head that was shown in the video (approx 8:31 into the video). It has two nylon blades...but those nylon/plastic blades can be removed and TWO trimmer (stationary non auto-feed) lines can be put into their place. You can also buy replacement packs of either the nylon blades or the stationary trimmer line (or make your own from a replacement pack of 0.65 or 0.80 trimmer line). If you go to homedepot.com you can search for the 2-in-1 head. Make sure you get the one that fits this model...there are similar heads for other models that don’t fit so make sure you look for the correct one.

FYI, you are loading the string wrong. I used to do it the same way as you. There is actually a hole on the inside you start the string in, coil in the opposite direction to pinch it in and then you only use that clip part on the top to hold sting into place when you are loading the spool into the weed eater. You probably have auto feed issues like I did?

So my blade isn't cutting the string automatically like it's supposed to, and after using it for only two minutes the plastic on the guard broke apart right near the blade, so I have a huge chunk missing. Really disappointing quality control. This was a replacement for a unit that was defective - the first one I got, the blade flew off when the string hit it (and yes, it was screwed in the whole way). Lame.

Guess I'm going to have to take it back. Cannot for the life of me get the two sections joined together. It gets to about a quarter of an inch from going all the way and will not go any further. Any suggestions before I take it back to Home Depot?

Sorry for late reply, perhaps twist it 90 degrees and try again? Then another 90 and try again?

I know this is a year later but I bought the same one again since I couldn’t put them together either. Second one is just as hard to put together. Trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong too.

Right when you said it’s lightweight you don’t get tired. You shook your hand in what looked like it was fatigued.

Bought mine today. Love everything about it but yes the battery life is weak. For me it's around 15min use per charge. Only takes around 80 min to fully charge. I've charged the battery 4 times today and I'm still not done. Guess I'll need to stock up on some batteries

Gratz! I bought the bigger brushless one fairly recently and am working on a review. ITs quite a bit more money and sort of is worth it but also isnt...
