I don't understand how that carburetor is pumping gas to the cylinder while being open on top?

The fuel is being sucked by the crank case suction pressure, created by the piston when travels up. What do you mean open? Carburetor has 2 hoses, one at the bottom and another one at the top.

@@baltamontaner5422 Im trying to fix a machine like yours as a hobby. And I don't think my machine is creating the vacume needed to suck in the gas through the carb, and so I was wondering if it had anything to do with the carb being open on top. Got any ideas?

@@linclip that’s what I did. Engine has been stopped the last 20 years. I cleaned every piece and bought a carburator kit online. New spark plug, new hoses and new fuel pump. At the end of the video (last second) you can see a photo of the hoses from the tank to the carburator

@@baltamontaner5422 hmmm well I could try taking it apart and cleaning it out. Funny thing is it runs sometimes, but only for a sec or two.

@@linclip that means that you have compression and spark, so work on the fuel side. Maybe more priming , maybe try half choke and fuel will fill up better the engine
