Oh I really enjoyed this. You reminded me how excited I am every second I'm in Japan and how much I love taking the Shinkansen too. Takayama is a must-visit. It's just got so much to see and do there-- and it's absolutely gorgeous. I too highly recommend. Two retro Showa museums, an archery Dojo, some FANTASTIC regional history museums and of course, close proximity to Shirakawago. There's so much to see, do and eat that I couldn't hope to list it all in a simple online comment. Thank you so much for making and uploading such a charming, evocative video. Can't wait to return to Japan. 🗾🏯🎎🍜⛩🚅

@@1Godspeed_45 I don't know if he's still running it but it used to be open until 8pm! So it made for something really fun to do after an early dinner. Alternative night time activities in Japan is something NOBODY makes videos about. Not everybody cares for nightclubs and bars and there are so many quirky and really fun things to do after dark. Just thought I'd mention one of the oddball things I found! Things like this are great if you have kids or are entertaining older visiting relatives. I'd love to find more cool off the wall night time things to see and do. 😃

Amazing video. thanks for sharing. May I know if the outdoor (rooftop) onsen shared amongst other guests within the ryokan?
@xavierica25 Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video :) you will have to book a time slot for the roof top Onsen. So during the time slot you booked, you have the outdoor Onsen all to yourself :) in Private

It was end Nov. Ending of autumn. It was quite cold around 0-3 °C. But to be submerged in hot spring while it is cold out is quite an experience :)

Thanks for the nice video, it really helps with looking for a ryokan to stay and what to expect. I have some questions though, i hope you can answer them. Do you guys speak japanese or was it managable with english? and did the dinner get served in your room in the yukimurasaki ryokan or in a public dining room?
@xavierica25 Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video :) we only spoke English, they can understand English. Maybe some hand gestures if they don't understand you fully. The dinner was served in the restaurant, each room has its own private dining area. Hope these answers helped you :)

Hi, what's the option u selected in ur stay in yukimurasaki? The outdoor onsen only for your room?
@xavierica253 ай бұрын
Hi, the option I chose was a room with open air bath. The room comes with outdoor onsen tub. The outdoor onsen pools was on the roof top which you can reserve to use privately at specific time at the reception

@xavierica25 Жыл бұрын
Hi, you can take the Nohi Bus from Takayama Bus station to Shin-hotaka Onsen guchi stop. Should be about 2050 yen one way :)

Thank you. Your video inspires me to visit this part of Japan. May I ask when you went? Was it in early or late autumn? I really want to see the whole mountain full of foliage. Have a great day!
@xavierica25 Жыл бұрын
Glad my video inspired your trip to Japan :) I went during early Nov but most of the autumn foliage in the mountains had disappeared. I suggest going in early autumn, around October period to enjoy the full blown autumn foliage. Do check the autumn forecast by the Japanese. They are quite accurate: )

How much u paid a night
@xavierica25 Жыл бұрын
We paid ¥45000 for 1 night with 2 pax :) We travelled during low season, hence it is a little cheaper. One thing to note about the Japanese Ryokan is they charge by per pax because they usually serve dinner and breakfast according to how many staying in a room.
