Ninja Hombrepalito a lot of people make this mistake and say that it means ‘everyone must die’. It’s because of a scene in season 7 where one character (not gonna bother you with any names or stuff) that Valyrian is a gender neutral language but ‘valar’ isn’t a pronoun but instead the word for ‘men’.

So just like old documents like the Declaration of Independence stating that "all men are born equal" is understood to have meant "all people are born equal," a fictional language in a medieval setting saying "all men must die" is automatically reinterpreted as "all people must die."

The switch is there for the reason you said. There is a troll koopaling and switch before the door to drop you if you take too long. It’s conceivable you could get through the door on the frame the switch is hit, thus a switch is in the next room so you can progress if that does happen.
