@@BobberTheWiseYTP You can probably wait out that room and grab a P-switch without ever stepping inside; since the one-way protects you from the spike tops. Not sure about the ghosts though. But if you can, you can go back through the pipe with a P-switch and basically skip the rest of the level.

@@SmashTom How do you get the p-switch if you can't get it without stepping outside the one way? Yeah you can wait it out in the one way but you have to get out of the one way to get a p-switch thus you can't go back with a p-switch.

Second to last one has GOT to let you out by just waiting with the shellmet at the entrance of the pipe. You should be safe from enemies from both above and below at ground level, and I think you can get out of the room with a P-switch, skipping the fishes entirely by taking the first p-door at the entrance. Ryu shouldn't need to go inside the madhouse, all the crazies are outside anyways!

I think The Madhouse was not a cheese, but it was an intentional solution. You was supposed to bring a shell to the fish room to activate a fireball hidden in the lower left corner to activate the bomb you mentioned.

The Madhouse was quite the weird and confusing level. I was also curious cause there was a P door at the start of that level amd you'd have been safe with a shelmet to activate a switch and hit the p door back at the start. But...that level is now in the past where it should be.
