I don't feel a ounce of sympathy for AJ he was screwed up long before Michael came along hence the reason Jason was brain damaged in the first place and let's not forget he paid a doctor to kill Jason when Jason was in a coma. Before the baby was born and before he even knew if it was his he was threatening to take it away from Carly throwing around how rich his family was so I don't blame Carly for saying Jason was the father. The whole family was screwed up, Michael was a possession to them just like they tried to treat Jason. The writers did portray AJ horribly nonetheless AJ should have called Sonny’s bluff and he should have used his money and power to get off. He didn’t go to jail for driving drunk with Jason in the car that almost killed him. He could have fought the charges and like Sonny said if he went to prison he would have still loss Michael and Carly anyway. He should have taken his chances and considering Carly’s track record AJ could have still got custody or made it where Carly lost custody. Carly wasn’t capable of caring for Michael on her own but I didn’t like how Sonny forced Carly to live with him just like she did with the Quartermaines. Carly didn’t have a chance to truly do anything on her own until Sonny divorces her. She either was living with Jason, or being forced to live at the Quartermaines or live with Sonny. Carly didn’t have a chance to be independent because the men in her life felt because she had their kid she had to live them.

looking back on this after watching some posters go back and forth on FB about the whole Sonny Carly AJ thing I thought I might get a diff perspective. truth is nope.. I still feel people want to hate carly and sonny for Michael upbringing : that's fine! people want to feel sorry for AJ a father than they feel was (robbed??) of his child: ok I get that.. but I cannot get how they all rail about all the horror that is Corinthos and forget that AJ had problems looong before Carly tore into his life Most of his problems stemmed from the very Q's everyone say micheal would have been better off with (like they didn't have enough issues granted not mob ones but still..). AJ caused as much damage as he had done onto him and worse became a father more obsessed with getting revenge then ACTUALLY GETTING HIS SON! I stopped feeling sorry for AJ the moment he started contributing to the problems and becoming just like those he was railing against. So lets just stop saying it was ALL Sonny and Carlys fault or they were more at fault because they started it or blah blah, because AJ sweetheart you might as well had put the bullet in the gun if Carly and Sonny fired the shot.

I go all the way back to the beginning when Monica accused Rick Webber of being AJ's father. I'm not for any father being denied access to their child but AJ burned down Sonny's warehouse and could've killed Jason had he been in the building and that came from Monica, that's why he lost custody of Michael, and this will eventually come out.
