Traditionally, sex is a subject that most African people keep under wraps! Not to be discussed or mentioned, yet every one in a relationship or even outside of relationship has sex. This week on Obodo Oyinbo Tv, I am starting a mini series on the impact of sex or the lack of it on African marriages and relationships.

Over my 50 years, I have dated a few African men from various countries. They have all been extremely handsome, smart, confident and well endowed with great bodies But terrible lovers! No romance, no sexual skills! I'd get disappointed every time with "missionary Johnny's". They just want to come and pass out. No care for the woman's satisfaction.

You really handled this issue very simple and matured, but some women are very shy to open up even when they need it likewise some men. Couples should be VERY friendly and free to express their feelings in words and actions in a romantic ways. It helps them to grow their love even if they have little arguments between them. Besides, for men before a woman follow you, you must have told her things she likes to hear, so you must continue doing it please.

Bridget, u hit the nail on the head SO MANY TIMES with this topic! Although u were speaking truth, it was very, very funny because it made me remember some of the earlier escapades I had with my Honey who is from Naija. I shared a comment on one of your other videos( Forgiving our African Parents, I think was the name) about how distant he was early on, but I had to understand his upbringing verses mine. Anyway on to the physical aspect, let me start by saying that OVERALL he is a beautiful soul( inside and out), but I had to TEACH him how to please me. Our 1st time was like NOTHING I had ever experienced because I was left unsatisfied, confused and sad! I had anticipated and played out that scene many, many times in my head. I was ripe and ready for the picking, EVERYTHING was ready, set, go...But somehow I got "lost or left out" on my journey to Kingdom Cum! There was no foreplay and although he had PLENTY of stamina it was like I was being devoured by someone in a food eating contest! Groping, grabbing, sloppy kissing, in the hole , deposited and done...Nothing sensual or seductive about it, almost like a business transaction...Girl, it was the most bizarre thing I had ever encountered and once I recovered from that initial shock, we had to sit down and fix this problem because there was/is so much love here...Fast forward 5 years later, in addition to him just being a beautiful soul he's (we're) handling business like a CHAMP in our bedroom!! Practice and patience truly make for perfection...

I'm so confused. I keep hearing this argument of women letting themselves go after marriage. I don't know about back home but if you leave abroad. You mostly likely work 40-50/wk, you have to cook, clean, do laundry, and take care of the kids. This is a minimal list I'm making because there's more. Plus, most men don't help, so how can a human keep up with all this. Make it make sense.

Good that you are speaking out on this important topic. However, you are too steeped in old stereotypes. 1. It is not true that younger women are unaware or shy of their sexuality. That ship has sailed a long time ago. 2. It is not true that men are selfish in bed. The oral of a thing is a mainstay in sexual relationships, even among younger couples. 3. The stereotype that young men are turned on willy nilly is not always true. This caricature is adversely affecting some younger couples. The woman may think something is wrong with her or her partner is eating outside if/when he doesn't get instantly ready. The men feel emasculated and worry about infertility as well. Stereotypes are easy generalizations but are sometimes harmful. Keep churning out awesome content.
