I blame our Mayor and some of the supervisors who kept this critical info to themselves, they must be voted out. a lot of homeless people have mental problems or addiction problems. Others simply can't afford the huge cost of housing. Putting them up in hotels doesn't solve the problem and they can't afford rent. Maybe we need some sort of safe micro housing given to the homeless to get them the help they need. super cheap tiny apartments that are literally a bed and table with community restrooms. With a safe place to stay, maybe some of them will seek counselling or be able to hold down a job.

Agree... Possible Solution?! !! I watched a video about Japan's rent/homelessness problem. Tokyo citizens solved their problem in a way by occupying "Gaming places" with internet connections. These places have private rooms, more like closets, for gamers. These gamers played video games for days and thus, needed coffee, etc. Then the elderly and newly displaced turned these "game-studios- rooms" into temporary housing. I remember one older man who worked at an upscale Hotel and had basically just his uniform, but he had a place to sleep and use a bathroom. It seemed to me such a smart solution. I'd rather see California start small like this. As these people become more financially able, I'd move them into larger affordable housing. Of course, those with drug problems and mental health challenges need medical facilities. Sanitoriums work in Europe.

CA taxpayers need a strictly enforced law prohibiting anyone from camping outside in public areas in all CA cities and suburbs.
