I tried this method but used pressure cooker and at the end put the lid and let it cook for few minutes. It tasted awesome. Putting spices in water beforehand really made a difference.

Love the way you present your show. Very personal, friendly and very informal, feels like talking to a buddy next door. You have the finesse to connect with the audience very well. I live in Canada and I agree with you. The way an Indian cuisine fills your heart, no other food can. I miss home made gobhi aaloo. Any reason you did not add onions or any thing sour like amchoor or tomatoes? Although I remember my mom not adding any tomatoes too. Can’t ask her now. She is in heaven

Great recipe as always. I remember watching people at my Nani's house deep frying the Gobhi and potatoes before mixing them with the gravy. I never figured out why they did that but it had a different taste to it.

Ranveer...you are getting better with each episode (in a good way ofcourse). I remember having worked with you on MasterChef India at Star. From then to now i see a huge transformation in the way you conduct the show. As for this particular episode...just by the look of the dish, i could almost taste the Aloo Gobi in my mouth. Delicious!

Aaloo gobhi mujhe pasand h. Humare ghar me tamatar aur pyaaz waali banti h to kabhi sirf tamatar, garlic kabhi nh dala, ginger aur hing k saath banti thi aur thand me matar daal ke, iske sath paranthe oyee hoyee saath me raita... Bss khush aur kuch nh chahiye. Thank you❤ for this tasty😋 recipe.

Gobi always made my parents fight. Bcz my mom likes gobi with little crunch she doesn’t t like to cook it all the way but my father liked gobi very well cooked almost like halwa. And my moms was used to cook her Way and my father was used to grumpy while eating it.

It's a delicious meal. But since potatoes are such heavy starchy foods I feel we should also include a raw salad to balance it out. Lots of people get a stomach ache after eating potatoes (Gastritis I believe) A fresh salad with raw tomatoes (Non-juicy variety or salad will become watery) onions (For people who eat onions, use red onions. Cut them into thin slices and dunk in cold water to remove the astringency. Squeeze water out) and thinly sliced cold cabbage and carrot. Instead of an oily and fatty salad dressing like they do in the west, we use lemon juice and salt+sugar combo. More than enough for a tasty and healthy salad. A salad won't be healthy if oil and vinegar is poured on it or fried food is added to it. Our Indian salads are all very healthy. Spices can take it a lvl more. Use chat masala, jeera powder and Kashmiri powder+ little bit red chili powder. If you want a Chinese taste add some soy sauce. I love this salad. I skip onions. I always try to include this salad in my meal whenever possible.

Hi Am from kerala....who loves North Indian and Pakistani cuisine to the core I always try making those dishes too but never felt the authentic smell I used to get when I have them from my north indian friends homes And finally in this dish.....I felt as if I travelled back to past....to my school days when I used to have this dish from sana's house.Thankyou so much It tasted and smelt the same👌💞

Ranveer sir, if you are reading this, i have a question about Hing. Aap konsa Hing use karte hai jo ekdum Bright Yellow hota hai. ( sketch pen me ek extra colour ata tha use RAJA COLOUR bolte the..vaisa colour hota hai ) , coz vo "compound hing" to to nhi lagti, powdered form hoti hai aapki wali. Just curious 😁. Btw loved your work and recipes. ❤️

U r not only my idol u r a very big inspiration for . Just by watching your photo , doesn't matters in how bad mood I am , I got a big smile . I just want to become a very successful chef like u . This day is very important for me . U have converted my normal birthday into my best birthday, that I can never forget that u have wished me . After you added the water/masala mixture (at 5:15 of the video), as it was cooking in ghee, you said "dhaniya needs to be cooked"... I didn't see where you added dhaniya powder or in the written description. Besides fresh dhaniya in the end, it didn't seem as if you added dhaniya powder to the water. Can you please clarify. Great work as always. Thx

Dear Ranveer, your recipes are very simplified yet interestingly tasty. We southies never try out the unnecessarily complicated masalas for punjabi/north Indian dishes. Thanks for your simplicity which makes us try it early. I prepared this your granny's Aloo Gobi..the most common sabji..oversimplified. Lo and behold, my wife and my north India brought up daughter finger lickingly savoured this sabji. I love your great sense of humour, apart from your preparation of recipe we enjoy your commentary as stand up comedy show. Thanks and God bless you to gift us many many more recipes.😀🤝🙏💐💐💐
