Apologies for the muffled sound. We tried a new camera and sound setting trying to cut back on the background noise and it obviously did not work so well. Don't worry, this is the only video we used that camera with for audio. Thank you for your understanding! And thank you for helping us reach 500,000 subscribers this week! My college roommate is from São Paulo. I visited him and his family about three years ago. While I had a ball there, São Paulo really is a city where you need to know a local to make the most out of your time and not be at the mercy of a hotel receptionist. The traffic is insane and there are some gritty areas that remind me of parts in Detroit (my hometown), but exercise common sense as you would anywhere else and you'll be fine.

That's interesting your comment and I agree ! Im from Sao Paulo and moved to USA since 2002. .....Really :) Do you remember where in Sao Paulo reminds you parts in Detroit ? I remember when you take the overpass towards the east side of Sao Paulo and when you are driving by Trilhos avenue really reminds me the Bronx NY with all the old big warehouses railroads , lot of older factories with the wall made of bricks and the tall brick chimney with the graffiti all over the place :)

that old downtown area where the cathedral is , is not a very good place to be ... its kind of like a skid row in LA ... in the nearby streets theres a little crack land ... .. so around there you will eventually see a lot of drunkards , druggies , and homeless .... so if a person doesnt know SP and visits that downtown area especifically , he might get the wrong impression of the city

Great video! I'm from São Paulo and the city can offer dozens of things to love and hate! The population of São Paulo is 12 millions (20 millions is the metropolitan area) and there are a lot of attractions to explore. Certainly São Paulo is one of the most cosmopolitan city of the world, with a insane night life and different kinds of food to try. But, in fact, the traffic is crazy and stressful and the violence is a problem in the whole country including São Paulo, although the criminality rates in São Paulo is lower than in others big cities in Brazil.

I'm from the metropolitan area of Rio, and here the crime is everywhere,São Paulo is twice as big as Rio,but even so it is much safer. Probably because here poverty is everywhere,in Rio you will see social inequality everywhere,rich or middle-class neighborhoods near favelas,in Sao paulo there is also that, but much less,most poor neighborhoods are further away . And the favelas of São Paulo are safer,an example of this are videos on the internet where a motorcycle police officer chases thieves and enters the favelas, here in Rio if a police officer enters a favela alone he is killed.
@AnonymousLibertar1an
@AnonymousLibertar1an 5 жыл бұрын

@AnonymousLibertar1an
@AnonymousLibertar1an 5 жыл бұрын
@AnonymousLibertar1an
@AnonymousLibertar1an 5 жыл бұрын

With respect, I have been to 22 countries in the world, including Brazil and Brazil is the most dangerous place I have been. Even on my channel I have videos or Rio and I also have been in Sao Paolo and will be there in less than 3 weeks. We go there only to stay and transit usually to Colombia or Rio, another place of extreme danger. It is no disrespect to the people of Brazil, they are nice to us overall 100% but the crime and the police that let it happen is insane. My friend saw 3 robberies in Rio while the police watched and did nothing near the beach. We walked around Sao Paolo with extreme caution, but look up the 10 most dangerous cities in the world, last time I think half were in Brazil. The government needs to pay the police more, and weed out corrupt ones-you know the police even rob motorists with fake planting of drugs and such.

I am from a city called Campinas located in the countryside of São Paulo State. Close to São Paulo city about one hour by driving. I've already drove my car there and the car transit it's really crazy, but believe the Paulistanos do have more respect in the traffic than people in the countryside of São Paulo. I mean it's easier. I totally agree with many of the point of view you had about São Paulo. It's totally a multicultural city. There you can find easily Japanese, Corean, Chinese, Italian and many other people from around the world. We use to call São Paulo of "Selva de Pedra" that means something like "a Stone Jungle" cuz it's full of buldings like the many bridges, huge malls, Museums, and not so much green like in other places. São Paulo doest not have beach, but nearby like just one hour from the city, there are many beachs that Paulistanos and people from São Paulo's countryside state use to go during the holidays or weekends. I enjoyed your recomendations about São Paulo Wolters. Hope you've had a good time here in Brazil. Hugs dude.

One of the things I would have add is the shock you get when you go to SP during the winter. I'm from northeast (Recife) and used to go a lot to SP when I was a teenager, specially in july. It's so cold (for me), and that might shock those who think Brazil is all about sun and beaches. If they go further south, like Gramado, man! They might feel like they are in another country.

#5 Is also very common in Europe, saw this a few times in Portugal. The difference is, in Brazil you give them money AFTER you come back to your car, it's like "oh thanks for taking care of it, here is some change". Whereas in Europe, you give them the money as soon as you're out of the car. There, it's more of a "thanks for pointing out that parking spot" meaning.

Data from the Brazilian Forum of Public Security, a research organization, shows the murder rate in the country was 30.8 per 100,000 people, up from 29.9 in 2016. For the sake of comparison, the United States had five homicides per 100,000 people in 2015 - the most recent year for which data are available - down from eight per 100,000 in 1996. Even Mexico, which is also suffering from a soaring murder rate, had less homicides per capita with 25 per 100,000 last year.

Sao Paulo has most of the topology and most of the vegetational types and climates that one will find in Brazil. Summer highs can be close to 40 Celsius, while most parts of the state have recorded temperatures below freezing in some years of winter, but above 1000 metres in the Serra Manitquerera and also along the border with Parana lows below 0 Celsius in June, July, and August are not uncommon, and above 1500 metres, they lows occassional fall below -10 Celsius.

I was born here and still live in the same house (with some changes, obviously). It's great to see someone talking about Sao Paulo without stereotypes (common for Sao Paulo, Brazil and all Latin America); yeah, the city is really huge; in some cases, it's easier to go to other city than other neighborhood (I'm NOT kidding). The culture here is very rich too, but, unfortunately, I totally agree with what was said about our violence; we are almost living in a civil war, at least if you look the numbers of daily deads. One really bad note for a city that I love. Thank's for the video!
