This song is a tribute to Dimash and the original performers as well as a unique take given the song is in English. Let’s not make the comments about fighting about ‘who is better’ (who could ever match Dimash? His version was perfect, of course I am not that good :). Also, the translation is to keep in the spirit of the original lyrics, but there were places where I needed to make some tweaks for various reasons. I will release a ‘making of’ video soon discussing my process and why I made certain translation decisions, so if you are questioning certain things wait for that video it should make things clear. I think if he had tried to do Dimashes version like probably most of us expected, it would not go well, but this guy knows his limits and did what he should of done and made his own version therefore he is not head to head against Dimash which for all singers is an impossible matchup. I appreciate his creativity.

I cannot believe I just found this. I have enjoyed your reactions to Dimash very much and know you are in awe of his talent but to have the guts to do an English cover of 'SOS and do it so well OMG! Forgive me if I still prefer Dimash but your version is incredible in its own r own right. Each version should always be listened to back to back as each benefits the other and each makes me appreciate the other all the more. @@Sun_mission Димаш действительно сделал БУМ, и вдохнул новую жизнь и дал огромную популярность в мире этой песни. Причем делал это с огромной почтительностью к предыдущим исполнителям, особенно Грегори, который пел ее про себя в сущности. И такой вклад очень оценили французы и родные Балавуана и Грегори.

Я вот считаю, что на сегодняшний день Димаш лучше всех исполнил эту песню, но думаю, что в будущем все равно его переплюнут, ибо всегда есть кто-то лучше в чём-то, но так же и хуже нас. I really like your version in English. You made it your own, which is great. After hearing Dimash, I wasn't expecting much, but you surprised me & I am very impressed with your beautiful voice & emotional rendition. You remind me so much of Prince™. I miss him. He was one of the greats too, like Dimash is. You could be too. Well done. It took a lot of courage to tackle this very difficult song. Keep singing & never give up on your dreams. :-)

I end up watching this like a dozen times in row every other month when it pops back up. It is so beautiful. I really like how your voice is very consistent throughout your entire range. I don't know how to describe it besides saying that your voice sounds like it all comes from one person as opposed to your head, mixed, chest voices sounding like different people take over. I also love your head (pretty sure) voice in particular. Clear and omg, that tone! And still completely masculine sounding! Sorry so long, but your emotional performance was just breathtaking.

Bravo Caleb. I am a translator and i know this song well in FR, part of the rock-opera Starmania which captured my heart so many years back. Even though no translation can ever capture perfectly the original -- least of all when it is a lyrical text -- your version in EN truly encapsulates well the ideas and the feeling of the original.
