Tc electronic needs to make this in a dual buffer pedalboard interface.

Interesting video! I have to say though, one thing that Soren said shows how pedals are being overused nowadays (not trying to sound like a grumpy old man). Ten pedals in AVERAGE is just absurd. And I'm not questioning if this is true. Is pretty much accurate with what I see in pedalboards around. Adding a pedal has a "cost" (besides the actual cost). You have to power it, is another stage to malfunction and troubleshoot, and, true-bp or not, it will change your tone. I build my pedalboard according to whatever songs I'm playing in a set, and I never needed more than 4 or 5 pedals. Sure, if in your band you have to make your guitar sound like a backwards orgy of spaceships and goats, that's one thing (and I approve that, btw!). But people do it the wrong way. They think "ok, I need a flanger, and phaser, and etc." Then they stuff it all in a giant pedalboard and MAYBE will use a certain pedal for 12 seconds in one song. I personally think you should have as many pedals as you want in your pedalboard. But remember (and listen!) that David Gilmour had a wah, volume, fuzz, and delay for the entire psychedelic set of Pompeii. And talent. And creativity. And if you really want to have ten pedals, my advice is to have a switching system. P.S.: I know I failed miserably in not sounding like a grump old man. Sigh.

After have decided not to buy anymore pedals (for a while) now you are making me to want this. And yes... You just sold me another pedal
@tcelectronic8 жыл бұрын
+Angel Rivero you can always telll yourself that this isn't actually a pedal since it doesn't have a bbypass switch. That should make the purchase easier :D Really happy you like the buffer, man :)
@crozb528 жыл бұрын
Excellent, thanks for that. You answered my only question right at the end, about isolating fuzz pedals or putting at the front of the pedal train. Why is it though, that fuzz pedals and guitar tone do not benefit from a buffer?
@Robotwr8 жыл бұрын
I use mostly TC pedals and you can choose between TB or Buff. Presumably all I need to do is set the first in the chain to TB and it will act as the Bonafide. They must have designed this for people with a mixture of pedals where a TC pedal is not the first in the series.

+Trefor Roberts Hi, Trefor. I load 2 tc eletronic´s pedals in my chain (with 7 pedals) in buffered bypass mode (Flashback - last - and Viscousvive - second). Do I need the bonafide buffer? I think no. Thanks
@davegoody71728 жыл бұрын
Søren Rocks! Nice demo TC, really shows us the difference. I use a Boss pitch pedal at the end of the chain into the front of the amp and an Alter Ego X 4 with the buffer on before reverb in the loop. So, I have 2 buffers in circuit already and adding BonaFide would make it 3. I have read multiple buffers cause problems. Do you guys believe this to be the case or would you make recommendations?

I have eight pedals on my pedalboard three individual 15 ft chords going from a splitter the three different amplifiers I have a bona fide buffer on the 1st of my signal chain and one on the last of my signal chain works great

I have one as the first pedal in front of the amp and then I have another one as the first pedal in my FX Loop chain.
@everope7 жыл бұрын
The one in your FX loop chain is pointless, because it is after the preamp, which is already a "buffer" in itself
@MoooseBlood7 жыл бұрын
So I run on my board now Guitar> Sp Compressor>Micro Pog>Fuzz War. If I buy this where should I place it?
@treversgoh6 жыл бұрын
Marco Resendez Generally after the Fuzz pedal. Simply because Fuzz pedals dont work well with a buffer befofe it. Or you can place your Fuzz pedal first in the chain. then the buffer as the second pedal. That would fix the impendence issue.
@gustabartok8 жыл бұрын
it goes in front of the pedalboard, right? because I´ve heard it´s ok to have a buffer in front and at the end of the chain, causing this, maybe, the loss of stereo delays or reverb because the buffer has not stereo in or outputs?
@detlevski4 жыл бұрын
I have the Polytune 3 as the first pedal in front of 5 true bypassed effects, the buffer on the PolyTune is on, no problems there. Besides these pedals I have 4 other modulation and time-base pedals in my effects loop. Should I use a seperate buffer in the effects loop, the first pedal is the Corona Chorus ? Should I set the Corona to buffer. I use fairly long 2 * 3m high quality cables for the effects loop. Am I wrong in thinking the cable length and signal gets somehow "reset" coming out of the pre-amp? Is the buffer inside the Corona a Bonafide buffer?
@bastian67557 ай бұрын
at the end of the chain do the same effetc?? Or it need to stay at the beginning of the effect chain?

I have a Polytune 3 (buffer), big muff, sub n' up, ehx talking pedal (fuzz). what is the correct order of those pedals? I'm a bass player. Thanks!!
@tcelectronic6 жыл бұрын
As mentioned in the video, fuzzes can be tricky when used together with buffers, but you should try using the PolyTune first, then Sub N Up and then the fuzzes. It's not a hard n fast rule. If it doesn't sound great then try the buffer after fuzz. As you can see, there's really not a right and wrong answer. Use your ears as best you can! 🙂

Does this go at the beggining or at the end of a pedalboard?
@tcelectronic8 жыл бұрын
+Sergio Martin it should be placed as early as possible in your signal chain :)
@Sokolemon2 жыл бұрын
@@tcelectronic I was led to believe its better to use the polytune3 for true bypass (with the inbuilt bonafide buffer) at the front, and the stand-alone bonafide buffer pedal at the end. Is this overkill? Where would you put these two on a board?
@8Junio766 жыл бұрын
If you have all those pedals off, you might need a buffer. But as long as 1 pedal is on, you don’t need a buffer.
@JonLarson8 жыл бұрын
If you want to use a buffer with a fuzz. Mission Audio VM pro will solve that :)
@kimhansen63845 жыл бұрын
It is easy, you just place the buffer aften the Fuzz. Same with Wah and Vibe if you want to retain the Hendrix sound.

The True Bypass slogan on stuff makes the word 'True' annoying, they should be called standard bypass because that what it actually is. True indicates retention of signal which actually doe not occur.
@tcelectronic8 жыл бұрын
+Brian Cullen - True just signifies that your signal travels unaltered through the pedal when it's off. It doesn't color your tone in any way, and hence it actually retains your core tone. It's not the pedal that's robbing your tone, it's the long cables ;)
@soundknight8 жыл бұрын
+TC Electronic Oh, thanks for that. This buffer stuff is a lot more interesting than it initially looked.
