The only problem is once you have left the lab the door closes and you can't go back and get it, if you find out about it later

You know, I was a smoker for a lot of years. There was a great deal of impulse control issues while I was quitting to NOT smoke again. I get the impression that Gopher's need to loot even when he shouldn't and refusal to depot stuff and come back without going all the way through the a dungeon tickles that same part of the brain. =D

Loving this playthrough, but definitely feel Bloodsuckers are way too common in this compared to the other games.
@GophersVids3 күн бұрын
Agreed. It makes them less terrifying because you sort of get used to them.
@woolenthreads3 күн бұрын
They were a lot tougher at the beginning, being described as bullet sponges and while they're not easy now they're not as annoyingly painful as they were. With the exception of positioned Bloodsuckers (like the one in this episode), it's simpler to just run away.

I know it is for game balance but, it seems kinda strange that the enemy can pour several mags at you but only have about 5 rounds when you loot them, whether they have shot at you or not.

Hey Gopher! Loving the three series you have right now. I don't know if you noticed, but the last few S.T.A.L.K.E.R. vids have uploaded without an episode number. Not the biggest deal but helps make sure I don't miss one!

Statistically I've found that you don't need more than 100 rounds for each weapon you have. Store the ammo you don't need in your stash. You don't need to loot everything NOW, you can go store stuff and then come back and loot later.
@richmondvand1473 күн бұрын
For anyone thinking of playing or is playing you should remember that if burdened by loot like Gopher is, find a Stash and stuff your loot in it. it'll keep it safe for later retrieval just make sure you mark it in your PDA. Also I love how Bloodsuckers are just an annoyance with a better shotgun XD they're no longer scary. As for this mission, Gopher you're better off getting rid of everyone. I did it stealthy, only took out 4 that you cant sneak past thinking they're the Ward but they attacked me when I came out of the culvert. So I went back cleared it and the actual friendly ward came back in to take over the place when I had passed by.

Even better, if there's a stash nearby that you haven't yet looted, you can put your loot in there. As long as you don't completely empty a marked stash the icon will stay on the map, but slightly faded to indicate you've found it but not emptied it. Since you have a limited number of custom map markers this saves the use of them for other things.

I found that Drainage entry before I began the entry and there's no way to get in, however I did use the bag to dump a lot of gear before going in, so I was able to loot it aaaaalllll.

Jesus Christ, please compel this man to leave his torch on in dark places.
@GophersVids3 күн бұрын
That would be a death sentence. The torch basically makes stealth completely impossible, and flanking during combat very difficult. The NPCs in this game already have way too good eye sight. I don't need to be helping them out even more by lighting myself up like a christmas tree :)

Your stash can be accessed in any major settlement you have a bed in. it wouldn't make sense to have to return to the starting zone all the time.

Does this game got NVG? I mean I can see how they wont make it for the sake of gameplay, like in Doom when you couldnt put a flashlight on your rifle and had to hold it in your hands, but it still a dumb gameplay decision, its no 1990, civilians can buy NVGs now, pretty serious NVGs even.

Just finished my first playthrough, and got the Stelok ending. The only thing I dislike is that it isn't until when you start the last mission, that you find out that all progress is lost and you will need to start from scratch again and get all your gear again, to do all the content you missed in-game, You should get the option when the main mission ends to continue to live in the zone, so you can finish everything.

What's in the stash? I'll tell you what should be in the stash. Those multiple suits of very valuable armor laying right there on the ground. I feel Skif is not grasping the concept of stashes. Like the meme of the dog with the ball, no take only throw. Stalker stashes exist because Stalkers before you had too much to carry, and rather than leave it on the ground for anyone to take, they tucked it away in a stash for future looting. Skif can and absolutely should do the same! Alright, I think I have it out of my system. I will hopefully now be able to go the rest of the playthrough without ranting and raving about how much loot you're leaving behind. I can't imagine you're not doing this intentionally, as experienced a gamer as you are. But it's still kinda frustrating to watch.
@GophersVids3 күн бұрын
I'm almost certainly never going to go back there. And if I did, I'd almost certainly not have room to carry it .... and would end up storing more stuff there. Although I will admit, I did break at one point and store a lot of random crap in a stash. Mostly because there was so much stuff on the floor it hurt my soul to just look at it :)

@@GophersVids Garbage in particular is riddled with side-quests and anomaly fields. And the Factory is pretty centrally located. I certainly passed by it plenty of times. But even disregarding all that, you could just make multiple deliberate loot runs, that's certainly what I did often enough. Flat sprint, straight line, ignore distractions. That's probably not entertaining to viewers, but editing magic can solve that problem. It's not even necessarily out of character, stashing and presumably later retrieving loot is a central part of being a stalker. One of the custom map markers is even for your own stashes. I don't doubt you can make it work even without the amount of coupons the game expects you to have. It'll just be harder. By mid-game a trip out and back can run you easily 20k just in repairs. 50k to fully upgrade a single weapon, 100k to fully upgrade armor. Late game gets even worse.
@GophersVids3 күн бұрын
I'll probably do it on occasion. As I said, at some point I did store a ton of crap in one stash "just in case". So maybe it will be a thing I begin to do. But I suspect they will just lie there uncollected. If it's dull for the viewer, it's probably going to be dull for me too :)
@kuro_neko58633 күн бұрын
@@GophersVids When you're not encumbered running is always an option, and as long as you have a few energy drinks, nothing is going to be able to catch you. But the long walk of the looter is actually really tense in this game, for that very reason. When you're loaded down to the max you can barely walk, can't run, and if you get jumped by something you have to frantically stand your ground and hope to win because there's really no other option. I'm at my most nervous coming back from an excursion loaded down with loot, especially in a new area when I don't know the lay of the land. It'd only possibly be dull for the viewer because such walks back to base take forever and the sense of tension might not pass through to them.
